Being too Cadillac for an obamacare subsidy, I saw my premiums rise close to 30% a year while Obama was POTUS and are now down to about 15% a year. That is where I am at. Donald Trump is loathsome but he at least is saving me money.

Trump had nothing to do with your reductions in premium.

Medicare is not sold. It is an entitlement. We don't do med supplement plans either.. I know a lot about medicare DETAILS FINE.

I thought I might be able to explain things people might not understand. I soon found everyone here was an expert on this subject. I was so ashamed that my 36 yrs experience paled in comparison to say, Debbie Downers. So I transferred this thread to the real experts in health insurance.

Yup....because we should have Medicare for all. Obamacare still uses private insurance for those who don’t qualify for Medicaid. You’re getting fked because private insuresrs have to insure sick people which they don’t want to do. You want cheap insurance ? Die early when you get sick. Otherwise, support universal healthcare like everyother country does with cheaper insurance.

After Obama care, the cheapest I could find was $300/month. Since I'm just over the income limit, I don't qualify for subsidies.

As a result I don't have insurance at all. Can't afford it.

His view is the companies and interstate competition. If it does not do well, then you will get your total single payer system. People are paying for people who don't. Every inner city is a massive whirlpool of medical spending because the taxpayer and the medical subscriber are paying for it. Obamacare made it easier for that. If we get single payer, remember the actual costs behind the scenes are still going up much higher then what will be given by the government. Add in that we are the sickest people on the planet, and there will be medical rationing within a short time.

There is a 6 month window that one has to sign up , and if you don't they have PEC prices.

But I agree with your point (assuming I understand it correctly). There are tons of requirements on insurance, that are ridiculous. And some states have additional requirements even over what the Federal Government requirements are. Like I know some states require it cover mental illness, acupuncture, alcoholism, and even marriage counseling.

Well of course that drives up the cost. Idiotic. I don't even drink alcohol. Why do I need marriage counseling and alcoholism insurance?
