actions, but well considered. On military matters, he has surrounded himself with the best the military has to offer. Going to war with N. Korea isn't
stupid, but it may be unavoidable. Decades of talks, offers and sanctions have utterly failed. If we wait any longer and just hope he doesn't attack, it could be too late. We have underestimated and dismissed his potential for years, in part the reason why he has gotten to this point. Trump is actually a very smart man; you don't build a ten billion dollar empire being a moron. Get over it and quit condescending to anyone who doesn't fit your ideology.

If Kim is not afraid of the United States then he is indeed insane. You cannot trust a crazy person threatening a nuclear attack bent on messianic glory to be predictable or reasoned with, probably why nothing with him has worked so far. In that case, war is inevitable unless the Chinese finally agree to totally pull the rug out from under him. They supply him with 90% of his economy.
Don't flatter yourself with claims that you actually know what ISIS, N. Korea or Putin think. BTW, ISIS is getting their asses kicked.
Why are you not angry that back in the '90's, the Clintons gave China all kinds of our military secrets helping them to become the military giant they are today? And during Obama's eight years, China has grown immensely. China sells to Iran. China and Iran supply and help N. Korea.
We have been trying diplomacy and carrots for years to get Kim to listen to reason. If he invested his billions into his economy and infrastructure, N. Korea could be a rich and prosperous place! The definition of insanity is to keep doing the same thing over and over and expect a different result. Kim Jong-Un is a madman who cannot be reasoned with; he will only respond to threats: either dire economic ruin threatened by China, or us putting half our Navy Fleet and Air Command right on his back doorstep, then killing anything he launches as soon as it takes off, while it is still vulnerable.
Our only options now are:
A). Keep waiting and hoping as long as we still think the threat is manageable.
B). Try a targeted campaign to try to take Kim out himself.
C). Launch a preemptive strike.
Either way, Seoul is in the High Risk Corridor. They should be evacuating NOW.
If we do as you say and acquiesce to Kim and let him call the shots, we immediately increase his power and hold on the world TEN FOLD and give him exactly what he wants. America must remain in the seat of authority at all costs and keep N. Korea from becoming like a snake too big to dare tamper with. Should we back down or be beaten by a third world dictator the size of Florida, we are done as a superpower, and that maniac becomes elevated to a world power--- --- exactly what he wants.
