I was a teenager when the Beatles made their international debut. They were wonderful! They deserved every bit of praise bestowed upon them. During Beatlemania I was sent to the war in Vietnam but when I came back things had begun to change. I still liked the Beatles but maybe not as much as I did previoulsy. In any case, I remained a faithful fan mainly because …. hey! ….. they were the Beatles! The band went through several changes after that and I stuck with them as much as I could. However, I look back on them today and I see that they weren’t always very good.

“Sgt. Pepper” Is considered a milestone in pop music but I don’t know why. I think it sucks! "Sgt. Pepper's lonely ... Sgt. Pepper's lonely ... Sgt. Pepper's lonely hearts club band". By repeating it three times it sounds to me that they were tired and just wanted pack up for the day and go home.

What do you think?

I thought Rubber Soul, the White Album and Revolver were better albums. There were great songs on Pepper.. A Day in the Life and A benefit for Mr. Kite come to mind. It was ahead of its time in a way.

"A Day in the Life"! Oh yes! It's the cut "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band" that I detest. It's awful! 🤮

I like the Kinks music. Lola was a classic rock song.

Once the "pop" Beatles stage mostly ended with Rubber Soul I liked how some of their songs spoke to a still respectable England....Folks going to work, saving for a holiday, a brush of history, etc.

Contrast that today with Snackbars and Hindus running the country.
