Woohoo! Kash Patel is the new FBI DIRECTOR. Pack your bags FBI DEM operatives, game over.

I doubt he gets confirmed. I'm not 100% sure like I was with Gaetz but there will be too many unwilling to throw out the guy Trump nominated to serve 10 years.
Gaetz pissed off a lot of GOP Congressmen in his pogrom against the Speaker back when. No way he was even getting enough GOP votes for confirmation, really. He shot his wad in the House over small potatoes. He should have said no and kept his House seat.

The wealthy? Like Bill Gates and all of those celebrities that Kamala paid to show up during her campaign?

All of those rich folks that say they're leaving America, or checking themselves into institutions?
You can be blind as a bat all you like since you evidently hate truth and love bias.

True.

No way he was even getting the majority of GOP votes for conformation, really.

Which was noted.

He shot his wad in the House over small potatoes. He should have said no and kept his House seat.

He didn't do that because he didn't want the ethics report released.

It'll be interesting to see how blatant the loyalty/purity tests will be for those who want to work in the gubmit going forward.

"Yes, I swear that I believe the 2020 election was stolen by the evil commies and that Trump has been sent by God to save America from Satan, I swear it"

:spinner:

What would be really funny is if they finally got the 2020 election fairly adjudicated and we found out that, in fact, it was rigged. The left would lose their minds. Even then, it wouldn’t likely sink in that they were manipulated.

Right on queue. Yes, if all the evidence was actually seen and it was proven that it was rigged, people like you would continue to toe the Democratic Party line. You don’t really care if it was rigged or not, as long as it resulted in Trump not being elected.

If someone can provide actual evidence people would react differently to no evidence.

It would have already been leaked if there were anything in it that wasn't just innuendo.

There was some reason he didn't want it released or he wouldn't have stepped down.

Former colleagues question his qualifications.
Mr. Trump said in his social media post announcing his choice for the F.B.I. that Mr. Patel had “tried over 60 jury trials.” Colleagues from Mr. Patel’s time as an entry-level public defender in Florida recall him as a middling performer with a deep animosity toward the Justice Department prosecutors he found himself up against. Mr. Patel spent about three years as a terrorism prosecutor at the Justice Department. He has repeatedly claimed he was the “lead prosecutor” in the government’s pursuit of the perpetrators of the 2012 attack on a U.S. diplomatic compound in Benghazi, Libya, that killed four Americans. In fact, Mr. Patel was a junior Justice Department staff member at the time, and he was not part of the trial team.
He is the author of the ‘Nunes Memo.’
Mr. Trump ordered that Mr. Patel be given a job on the National Security Council staff after Mr. Patel, then a House Intelligence Committee staffer, impressed Mr. Trump as the primary author of what has come to be called the secret “Nunes memo.” The document was a key element in the effort of House Republicans to undermine the Justice Department’s investigation of Russian meddling in the 2016 election. Mr. Patel’s memo, which Mr. Trump declassified over the objections of the intelligence agencies and Democrats, fueled bogus claims by Mr. Trump, Republicans and conservative media that politics drove the Russia investigation and that the government had spied on the Trump campaign itself.
He was a would-be ‘political executioner.’
In 2019, as President Trump battled public outrage and a looming impeachment over his effort to enlist Ukraine in digging up dirt on former Vice President Joseph R. Biden Jr., he proposed to a group of top advisers that Mr. Patel, a backbench staffer on the National Security Council, begin vetting White House aides for loyalty. He would have served as a “political executioner,” in the words of Charles Kupperman, the deputy national security adviser at the time. Mr. Kupperman and White House legal advisers talked the president out of it, saying it would create legal and morale problems.
Five Things to Know About Kash Patel, Trump’s Pick to Lead the F.B.I.

This will no doubt excite the base to no end. Patel has been quite vocal about going after Dem's for imaginary horrors committed against Baby Donald. But I keep coming back to what was to be John Durham's blockbuster takedown of all manner of Obama admin officials. What a dud. Fingers crossed the damage Kash is about to inflict doesn't compromise the agency too badly.

There was a day when Repubs would react with horror if the nominee to lead the FBI said he would go after members of the media who are critical of the man who nominated him. Those days are over for now. They see autocracy on the horizon........and they like it.

You cannot and do not shred federal documents. It is illegal. Remember Nancy ripping up the President's SOTU address? She could have been charged.
Yet they do it all the time. And she wasn't prosecuted for that crime, was she....

I wonder how all that is going?....He was elected to a new term last month so it seems to me he can go back if he wants to.

As I said earlier he should never have resigned his seat in the first place. The margin in the House is so thin they have about a year to get anything done before the mid-terms. I think Trump knew this and was just zinging the Democrats by naming him.
