Woman Taunts Cops and Cops Do Nothing

Another who is no fan of the Constitution. I never thought I'd see the day.
Let's see your argument, fool.

Tell me how this would be unconstitutional.

Go ahead.

I already did. Constitutionally it's protected free speech. You still want to punish people despite that.

It is not protected free speech.

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech,

This has nothing to do with congress.

If your city coucil passes this kind of law, the Constitution can't touch it. Unless the charter has something in it.

However, sometimes, when individuals curse at police, they are arrested for disorderly conduct, breach of the peace, interfering with the official duties of officers or other criminal offenses. The line between protected speech and unprotected disorder when it comes to profanity directed at law enforcement can be hazy and uncertain.

Cops will arrest you for most anything. Supreme Court granted cussing and challenging cops, protected speech.

Bulls**t. Legal analysts call it a grey area because it is. The 1971 ruling is over 50 years old and we are taking steps to spit in it's face. I'd love to get to the SCOTUS with it again. They'll tell you that this is a city deal and the Constitution does not have any sway.

In 1971 You had the same assholes on the court that punched out Roe.

Tell you what. Once we pass it, you can come to my city and swear at cops. Maybe you'll get famous.

Because it's not illegal.
I have to agree. As long as words are all that a person is guilty of, how much can really be done to them in return where the authority people are concerned?

God bless you always!!!

Holly

P.S. This of course doesn't put a stop to people in charge of businesses. If they fire an employee for having a murderous frame of mind, those people in charge are well within their rights too.
