On another note, perhaps the two cops should have left when the guy threatened to start shooting. De-escalate. I don't pretend to know what exactly happened let alone what they should have done, but I presume that, once an investigation is complete, lessons can be learned. What happened was horrible and the shooter probably deserves to be executed if my understanding of what occurred is accurate.

I didn't mean to imply that they should just leave and go about their day. I'm suggesting that, perhaps they should have backed off, and perhaps a police negotiator could have called the man and tried to talk the man down, so to speak. Again, I can't say for certainty what they should or shouldn't have done as I wasn't there nor am I experienced with this sort of thing. I guess I'm simply conjecturing out loud. In any event, the guy wasn't an active shooter, right? He actually warned them that he would shoot and they apparently responded by charging him and the man kept his promise and shot them both dead. I think it's probably accurate to say that the officers mishandled the crisis. God bless them and their families.
