With So Many Ships Heading to America, We're Going to Need a Bigger Drill

Pillage does seem to be a continuation of US policy.

Are we supposed to feel bad about that? I mean if we're going to be accused of it regardless, might as well make it a reality. Then your outrage could at least be genuine. :dunno:

Whoelse are we going to give the credit to?
American oil producers who took advantage of high oil prices to open up new sources that would not have otherwise been profitable. Quid Pro Joe was famously on the side of shutting down, not increasing oil production. Fracking, for example, requires a relatively high price to be profitable.

Sometimes a president is dragged kicking and screaming into something against his will, like he was.

It's up to YOU to explain why that is the best price. You made this sweeping statement with no back up or links whatsoever.

This outlook from the US government is forecasting prices in the $75 a barrel range this year and next.
30.00 is the min because oil drillers will go broke. 60.00 is the sweet spot. A product has to be marketable you cant just raise prices endlessly. Government projections are always wrong. What ever happens it will be better than Bidens disaster. Venezuela and Americas now control most of the worlds oil supply. We are in control now

While it exports significant amounts of crude, the U.S. remains a net importer of crude oil to supply refineries specialized for heavy crude, creating a unique, high-volume, two-way trade in oil.
We get that from Canada, Mexico, and now Venezuela. As I've shown before, the Trump admin has been ahead of the game since last year, preparing for replacing the slight amount we imported for the ME, which didn't even come close to 1/8th of what we imported from Mexico and Canada, and now the Venezuelan crude imports far exceed Mexico's and is still climbing. The Gulf refineries in Texas are optimized for refining Venezuelan crude.

Trump also signed the Alaskan pipeline deal last year to provide our Asian allies with LNG and oil, bypassing the dicey trade routes from the ME and also the Panama Canal bottleneck as well. He also made domestic fertilizer a priority last year, re phosphate production and supply sources. MArch of last year:

Arlington, VA – The Fertilizer Institute (TFI) today extended its sincere thanks to President Donald Trump for including Potash alongside critical minerals in an Executive Order (EO) titled “Immediate Measures to Increase American Mineral Production.” This designation combined with the provisions in the EO sets into place a framework to ensure that Potash and our nation’s other critical mineral resources are leveraged to create jobs and fuel American prosperity.

President Trump’s EO will help ensure a stable and abundant supply of fertilizers which are critical to maintaining the global competitiveness of U.S. farmers, strengthening rural economies, and keeping food prices in check.

...

“Originally included in the first list of Critical Minerals created in 2018 under President Trump’s first administration, potash’s omission from the 2022 list was a mistake that a broad coalition of industry and consumer advocates have been working to remedy.

Biden had removed it, being a dumass criminal sociopath like all Democrats.

Sorry boot licker, it didn't happen under your massa Trump.

I suppose that's why oil execs are clear that they see no need to build new refineries in the US.

U.S. refiners are not planning to make big-ticket investments to process more domestic crude and less oil from top suppliers Canada and Mexico, industry sources and analysts said,

If unamed sources and analysts said well it must be true.

Trump has been in office for more than a year. Why didn't he finish restocking the SPR when prices were low?

Biden's use of the SPR broke OPEC's stranglehold on oil prices, bringing down the price of gas, and making millions for the US Treasury.

If only Trump were half as smart as Biden.
If you were only half as smart as an eggplant you would realize Americans don’t care what some TDSer from Canaduuuuuhhhh thinks.
