JD is the most erudite politician to rise to that level in the past 70 to 100 years. The last person whose mind was that sharp was Eisenhower. Bill Clinton was very intelligent too even if he was a perv.

Obama was a slick talker.... But we're never going to be reading any novels entitled Barack Obama and the calculus equation.

Nixon was underrated as far as intelligence....

Other than that the general knowledge base and communicative intellect of the rest of the POTUS people amounts to what you might find in a bar room urinal. I have often made this complaint.

Yeah I don't know how they come up with these numbers. I dare say the polls are not very scientific in that area. Too often the results seem to mirror what's convenient at the time which is kind of a dead giveaway.
