Will this week be remembered as the time where NPR and PBS disappeared?

How does that relate to the fact that there are 87 Dems and 0 Republicans? A fact is a fact.

Jordan is a known liar when it suits his purpose. You are using a guy that help hide sexual assaults.

Oh come one. It comes right off the registration list: 87 are registered Dems, and 0 are Republicans.

Anyone doubt that PBS has been hijacked by the left? They don’t even try to hide it.

Only the left watched "The Civil War" I guess.

Congress is having a procedural vote today to cancel $9.4 billion in funds from international aid, PBS, and NPR. If the vote is passed, the wailing and gnashing of teeth will echo forever.

Senate to move on Trump's request to cancel billions in foreign aid, NPR and PBS funding

"Washington — The Senate could move forward as soon as Tuesday on a request from the White House to claw back $9.4 billion in funds for international aid and public broadcasting as Congress faces a Friday deadline to act.

In what's known as a rescissions package, the White House in June requested that Congress cancel billions in funding that had previously been approved for spending, starting the clock on a process that gives lawmakers 45 days to act.

The move seeks to make permanent some of the Department of Government Efficiency's spending cuts, with the package's primary focus being slashing foreign aid. But it would also effectively cut off federal funding for NPR and PBS.

Senate Majority Leader John Thune, a South Dakota Republican, said he hoped to hold the first procedural votes Tuesday, though he was still having conversations with some members who are resistant to pulling back all of the funding.

Last month, the House approved the request, overcoming opposition from all Democrats and four Republicans."

It is 2025. Public Broadcasting Corporation’s brands, NPR and PBS, receive the bulk of their funding from corporate donations. Sesame Street can be mentioned in the same breath as Disney and the licensing revenue it generates.

Not one dime of taxpayer money should be going to Public Broadcasting. In an age of the Internet, there is no shortage of media content. 50 years ago when even the largest media markets only had three local network channels and an independent channel, it made sense to have taxpayer-funded PBS. Not in 2025.

It would be a sad thing if both of those organizations had stayed true to their mission but unfortunately that's not the case. Rather than simply being organs for public information which is what they are supposed to be they have instead become mouthpieces for progressive insanity.
Let them fund themselves if that's the case.

Neither will go anywhere but they will likely get more one sided. The next (D) administration (and yes there will be one) reinstates the funding.
And the other side will keep purchasing weapons and ammo.

I don’t know the current ones. I stopped listening years ago after their sharp turn to the left.

But you have "heard" about these shows but don't even have a clue as to whether or not they actually exist.

Let's be honest. You are upset because you think Ernie and Bert are gay.

This is not just public broadcasting. The entertainment industry is still massively woke. Rights have been won. The in-your-face tactics needs to stop.

PBS/NPR only receive 15% of their funding from the federal government, so they may have to scale back, but I don’t see them disappearing. It’s a shame that educational shows like Sesame Street will be effected, while billionaires get another tax break.

The fact that you don't like him doesn't make his assessment any less valid, see as how he has access to information you don't.

He helped hide sexual assaults on college students. Why is it you like him?
