"The jaws of victory"? What victory? If you mean the violence in Charlottesville you might have a point. Democrats consider violence and chaos and unrest and anger in their concept of "victory". Otherwise democrats haven't enjoyed meaningful political victory in six years.

If I ever had to exemplify "wedge issue", emphasizing the word "wedge" as in a melodramatic red herring/strawman intended to divide (wedge) the people as much as possible, this particular statue issue shall forever be that example.

It's interesting to note that the angry left which has shown it's willingness to commit arson and vandalism and even murder, still considers the democrat party to be "victorious" for some reason when they were defeated in the voting booth time and time again. It's possible that the angry disappointed and borderline psychopaths on the left even consider "Harvey" to be some sort of a victory.
