Two recent rulings out of the Democrat Fiefdom of California:

"California bans the sale of new gas-powered cars by 2035

POINTS
  • California, the country’s most populous state and the center of U.S. car culture, is banning the sale of new gasoline-powered vehicles starting in 2035, marking a historic step in the state’s battle against climate change.
  • The rule will force automakers to speed up production of cleaner vehicles beginning in 2026.
  • The policy will not ban people from owning and driving conventional vehicles or from selling them on the used market."
  • California bans the sale of new gas-powered cars by 2035

And this:

"Californians Told Not To Charge Electric Cars As Heatwave Singes State

Temperatures as high as 44 degrees Celsius were forecast in some Los Angeles suburbs as a huge heat dome bakes a swathe of the western United States.

"Consumers are urged to conserve power by setting thermostats to 78 degrees or higher, if health permits, avoiding use of major appliances and turning off unnecessary lights," said the California Independent System Operator, which runs the state's power grid.

Between 4:00 pm and 9:00 pm, "they should also avoid charging electric vehicles."

"Reducing energy use during a Flex Alert can help stabilize the power grid during tight supply conditions and prevent further emergency measures, including rotating power outages."

One must be non compos mentis to vote Democrat.

Wow, you miss the point...

The point is that an electric car is CLEANER than a petroleum powered one. Particularly if the electricity comes from a clean source like Solar, Wind, hydroelectric, etc.

Try this, moron......where does the energy that fuels the EV come from?

This is where you say..".....duhhhhhhhhhhh...."

In British Columbia the energy comes mostly from Hydro power.

The details are relatively unimportant compared to the value of keeping the debate alive and in the minds of all the people who are concerned.
Of course some will be concerned as to how the debate relates to climate change, while some will see climate change as a fake issue.

Only by debating the topic will any conclusions be reached. Not to suggest that there won't be conclusions reached through experience!

I need you hon!

I just listed a bunch of them.

Heck, I'll go one further... nuclear power could power all our electric cars without increasing the carbon footprint. This isn't complicated.

So long as they're building those new nuclear power plants in Boston, New York City, Los Angeles, Seattle, Miami, Chicago, St Louis, or some other big city.

I don't want them in my back yard.
