And about 15% of the applicants were allowed to stay while the rest were shown the bus. tRump fired a few hundred of those people that contributed to those courts. And he disavowed many of the US Embassies to screen applicants before hand. It is all a manufactured crisis. I still believe in the border control but let's not stay so stupid about how to do it.

In the way back machine, Employers used to show up at the border crossings with buses and sponsor workers. At the end of the season, they would pile them back on the bus and return them to the border crossing and allow them to go home to their families. And there were many that were given a pathway to citizenship because they were in fear of their lives and the lives of their families. The system worked but it was destroyed by tRump. There was no reason for the Families to illegally cross under those conditions.

Neither you nor I have a choice today. This has zero to do with the trade balance. It's all about one man who has an idea how things should be run. Trade balance is another problem. Care to follow up on that?

It would have been so much better if Biden had announced, after he had done well in the 2022 midterms, that he wasn't running again and he was passing the torch to a new generation of leaders.
