I used to think that Biden would step aside for Harris, but his rough handling makes me think he isn't going to resign to make her President. Instead, he will be thinking of rehabilitating his own legacy. Since he is going to pardon his son anyway, why not pardon Trump as well? This "magnanimous" act could then be used to recast him as a unifying peacemaker who voluntarily chose to not run again (even though he would have beaten Trump again). That way, he could also claim partial credit for ending the wars in Ukraine and the Middle East. Way to go, Mr.President!

A president cannot pardon himself.

Have the courts ruled on this? As far as I know they have not. Until they do, the constitution does not state that a president cannot pardon himself. That said, I would not be surprised if it were to be ruled unconstitutional if it were ever challenged in court -- which hasn't happened yet to my knowledge.

He could sue him, Hell, he sues everyone, but Mr. Trump is not, nor ever has been a prosecutor.
