Why would anyone who is profiting off the military industrial complex in any way want Ukraine and Gaza wars to end?

Why would anyone these companies donate to want wars to end?
Why would anyone who works for these companies want wars to end?
Why would anyone whose family works for these companies want wars to end?
Why would anyone whose is invested in equities of any of these companies want wars to end?

Was DWIGHT D EISENHOWER LYING WHEN HE MADE A SPEECH ABOUT THE DANGERS OF THE MILITARY INDUSTRIAL COMPLEX?

It is so odd to me that some people love the MIC giving weapons to Ukraine….but hate Israel for taking weapons from MIC.

IS THE MIC GOOD OR BAD?

Why does the right continue making false equivalences?

Make no mistake, lefties love war and violence.

They only pretend no to when it helps their POLITICAL AGENDA.

The Founding Fathers listed the duties of the federal government in two sentences, "to provide for the common defense". To promote the general welfare". Left wing democrats usually have it backwards. Military defense tools made in America helps keep the economy running. Nobody looks forward to war but military defense is still essential.

And the industrial military complex is a powerful influence on our government:

Emphasis mine:
". . .According to the Federal Election Commission, as reported by the Center for Responsive Politics, defense firms spent an average of $127 million a year over the past 12 years on congressional lobbyists, and in the past two election cycles, $25 million per cycle on donations to federal political candidates. The role of major defense contractors, such as Raytheon, United Technologies and Lockheed-Martin, in lobbying Congress has been described in detail by William Hartung. We surveyed available information on the web about the six principal national peace groups and their state affiliates, discovering that U.S. peace and justice organizations spend around $250,000 a year on lobbying to reduce military expenditures and support peace treaties, and essentially nothing at all on political contributions. Nearly all lobbying is done by volunteers, and a minority of these organizations mobilize volunteers to support a few political candidates. Essentially, military corporations have spent 760 times more than peace groups on lobbying and political contributions during the past two election cycles. . . .

I would support legislation that does not prohibit anybody from purchasing advertising but does prohibit anybody who directly gets government contracts from contributing to any members of congress or presidential candidates or their PACS.

Let's just put this in perspective. Lobbyists only have to invest 127 million a year to get how many hundreds of billions of dollars? Damn, this has to be the best ROI for any racket in the history of rackets. And it is the same when you look at how the uber wealthy spend maybe a few hundred million on campaign donations and other "favors" to make billions in their investments, like in the defense industry, thanks to the US government's policies that favor the uber wealthy. If you think about it, politicians are bought for pennies on the dollar. Basically on the same level with crack whores.

Interesting analogy. :)

You cannot blame any American business for wanting to prosper and I have no problem with non government contractors contributing to people they believe will promote the best government policies for business.

But I do think those companies that exist pretty much primarily via government contracts or maybe any receiving government contracts should have restrictions on campaign contributions because of their direct benefit at taxpayer expense.
