However, in the end, the cost of tariffs are borne by the consumer. Which will work against you. And asking for a recession?..WTF. The only thing recessions bring is misery...mostly for the people who voted for you. Manufacturing??? You won't do it with tariffs. That ship sailed in the 80's. Unless you can convince (without holding a gun to everyone's head) American workers to accept slave wages, towns to give enormous tax breaks, and a whole mind reset when it comes to consumption...it ain't gonna happen.

If you had done that, I would probably be watching it right now looking for ways to prove you wrong. I used to be quite the liberal Democrat back in my youth. Then I became a Republican by listening to arguments against being a Democrat with the intent to prove them wrong. Later, I became a libertarian by listening to their arguments. Then, with great reluctance, became a Trumper by listening to arguments for being a Trumper with the intent to prove them wrong. and also watching Trump in action.

Maybe that makes me sound wishy-washy but I’m 62 years old and I’ve been watching politics since I was 15 so a few lane changes are to be expected. People grow up, after all.

In going through my home page on Youtube, I ran in this video that caught my attention (due to its title). In listening to it, I realized that this man is dealing with data, statistics and facts and not with biases, politics or fantasies.
