Sorry I missed a day, was out cavorting with visiting relatives heh
Syriusly, ugh we see eye to eye on so many LGBT issues, but why oh why must you connect such crimes to gun ownership?? It's sooo cliche... I know you have the stats, there are millions of gun owners, like myself, who have nothing against LGBT, or even /are/ LGBT. Please stop connecting this stuff, it's crap and you are far too intelligent to not know it. Just as in any "group," there are fruit loops, don't try to paint all gun owners as haters like this - we're not ~pouts~
Extremism and intolerance, on both sides, is the common thread of /every/ incident. This is the real problem we should all be condemning and striving to fix...
I've been putting thought into the whole "indoctrination" argument in schools and what not and I'm afraid I do tend to agree. It is not so much that I mind liberal teachings or liberal student groups, but rather their fascism when it comes to opposing groups and teachings. Colleges especially are being pressured to reject alternate opinions and beliefs. This is disheartening because our children are not learning to properly address opposition to their opinions, something one will /always/ find in their lives - this loss of coping skill feeds directly into the extremism that is so dangerous the unstable in our population. While I can understand, in that I think the whole liberal teaching movement is a direct reaction to the blatant "indoctrination" of churches who had a stranglehold on the country for generations, and honestly it was/could have been a good one, but now you folks push too far to the left with the "forced" teachings; and we're imbalanced again...
While the right would dictate the "place" of a woman and condemn the hearts of our LGBT's, the left's hatred are just as dangerous; lashing out at wealth and success and turning to socialism. I simply cannot support the left when they are so out of whack which leaves me very often voting against my LGBT interests

While this is actually a decent year for my vote, most are not... Still I am hoping that the establishment parties on both sides will learn from what the people are telling them is wrong with their extremist views, or at a minimum we can abandon the two-party system that cripples compromise in the country; as vast numbers of my idiot rabid Sander's supporters are doing in abandoning the D party.
I know there is compromise out there for us as a nation, I'm just not sure where the desire to find that "middle ground" has gone in politics, education, and many other key aspects that build the strength of this nation. I think if one wishes to find where America is at its best for /all/ her people, you will find it was during the periods that we were united. Why must we take the extreme path up the valley cliffs to either side, when the paved road down the middle would be a far smoother ride? I find it... pathetic really, that so many people in this nation are unable to use their brains and follow the best course, the easy path that accepts and tolerates /all/ groups and beliefs in a free land. Even if it is not your belief, you must believe in the freedom that America stands for and find tolerance. Divided we will fall, look at where we are today and how bad it's getting out there...
We cannot run a country on blame, we must run a country upon our common ground.
