Basically, this would be superior to the "family unit".
*Biological parents would no longer be granted legal custody of children upon their birth. Children would be raised by the state, and the most competent and educated members of society would be their mentors.
*The institution of marriage would be abolished. People would choose their partners, and seek new ones as they see fit. And since they wouldn't have to bother wasting their time raising children, there would not be pressure to choose a partner out of material necessity. Rather, they would be free to choose the partner they most desire. Which would improve quality of life and self-actualization.
