Why Still No Peace?

Read Moisher Dayan. They planned the six day war in 1953 and did everything in their power to provoke a war. They wanted more land and water. They attacked Egypt when Egyptian forces were deployed in Yemen from 1964 to 1972.
Now you are talking nonsense, and nonsense that has nothing to do with the issue, why is there still no peace? Egypt offered peace to Israel and got its land back, but Syria refused to make peace with Israel when the Assad's still had the power to make and so they haven't gotten their land back. The Palestinians never had a leader who could credibly offer peace to Israel, so despite all the gestures and negotiations, peace and a Palestinian state were never possibilities.

We all know the reason why there is peace: because there has never been a Palestinian leader who could credibly offer peace to Israel. Some thought Arafat was such a leader, but that is doubtful, and certainly there is no such Palestinian now or likely to be one in the foreseeable future.

TOOMUCHTIME
Your post proved my whole point for me.

"There has never been a Palestinian leader who could" accept the West Bank and Gaza as a final agreement for the conflict because the entire palestinian people rejects the partition of their homeland.

The moment any palestinian leader, even Arafat, compromises even a square inch of Palestine they will be delegitimized in the eyes of the palestinian people.

"In the foreseeable future" is just toomuchtime's delicate way to say "never".
You are basically saying the same thing I am, that there never has been a likely never will be a Palestinian leader who can credibly offer peace to Israel, so there will be no peace and no Palestinian state.

You seem to think that means never, but I wouldn't entirely rule out the possibility that "Peace will come when the Arabs [Palestinians] will love their children more than they hate us." Golda Meir.

You seem sure that will never happen.

The six day war was just a land grab. The US pays Egypt for peace with Israel. The Jewish refugees wanted the Litani and Hasbani rivers in Lebanon too. Nationalism is always a nasty business.

Clearly you are not competent to hold a rational discourse on anything concerning Israel.

  • What is mind-boggling is that the Biden Administration criticizes Israel but then turns a blind eye to Iran's military buildup near Israel's borders -- all while Iran fires missiles into Israel from Syria, ships ballistic missiles to Israel's self-declared enemy, Hezbollah, and continues to threaten exterminating Israel down the pike.
