Why so many negative books on Donald Trump?

Oh please. Trump has been a liar and a cheat for more than 40 years.

That is true, that I would never trust any business deal involving Trump.
But when it comes to the Mideast, Obama, Hillary, and Biden did far worse.
Instead of ending the illegal wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, they greatly increased them, expanding in Iraq and Afghanistan, as well as into Libya, Egypt, Syria, Yemen, the Ukraine, etc.
I voted for Obama, and that was the worst choice of my life.
The illegal things they did in the Ukraine could easily start a nuclear war.

I wonder if they are all making shit up?

Congratulations, you just proved that anyone can write a book.

The best one, Get Trump by Alan Dershowitz.

Oh, you mean the guy who argued that the central argument of President Donald Trump’s impeachment defense is that the articles of impeachment should be dismissed out of hand because the president is not charged with a specific crime?

Dershowitz has been in the legal doghouse for some time now, after that one.

That is true, that I would never trust any business deal involving Trump.
But when it comes to the Mideast, Obama, Hillary, and Biden did far worse.
I don't think so. Trump's acts were very controversial.

  1. Withdrawal from International Agreements: Trump withdrew the U.S. from several key international agreements. These included the Paris Climate Accord, which aims to mitigate greenhouse gas emissions and combat climate change; the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), commonly known as the Iran Nuclear Deal, which aimed to limit Iran's nuclear program; and the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP), a major trade agreement with numerous Pacific Rim countries.
  2. NATO Criticisms: Trump frequently criticized the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), calling it "obsolete" and suggesting that the U.S. might not meet its defense obligations to other member states if those countries did not increase their own defense spending. This was seen by many as undermining the alliance's mutual defense clause, a cornerstone of the post-WWII international order.
  3. Relationship with Russia and Vladimir Putin: Trump's relationship with Russian President Vladimir Putin was the subject of significant controversy, given allegations of Russian interference in the 2016 U.S. election. He consistently made statements that were seen as overly friendly towards Putin and Russia, raising concerns about national security and the US's position towards a traditionally adversarial nation.
  4. North Korea Summit: Trump met with North Korean leader Kim Jong-un in two unprecedented summits. While some praised these meetings as a step toward diplomacy, others criticized them as offering legitimacy to a brutal dictator without achieving significant concessions on nuclear weapons.
  5. Israel and the Middle East: Trump moved the U.S. embassy in Israel from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem, a controversial decision that was seen by many as siding with Israel on a sensitive issue and complicating peace efforts. He also brokered the Abraham Accords, normalizing relations between Israel and several Arab states, but this was seen by some as ignoring the Palestinian issue.
  6. Trade Wars: Trump initiated a trade war with China, raising tariffs on hundreds of billions of dollars' worth of Chinese goods. While this was done in the name of protecting American jobs and industries, it caused economic disruptions and was criticized as being likely to hurt the U.S. economy in the long term.
  7. Withdrawal of troops from Syria: Trump's decision to pull U.S. troops out of northern Syria in October 2019 was met with broad bipartisan criticism. It was argued that this decision abandoned the Kurdish forces, a key ally against the Islamic State.
Even if you disagree with the above as being 'controversial', overall, Trump still did far worse:

Trump's continuous incendiary acts, comments, mentions, speeches, covering over a period of many months, of which the predominant message was 'democrats stole the election' and that lie began before the first ballot was cast, inculcated in the minds and hearts of his follows long and hard, to such an extent, that it caused a welling up of what can rightfully be characterized as a juggernaut of rage, erupting in volcanic fashion on 1/6, resulting in several deaths and millions of worth of property damaged, some property stolen, and trespassing of the offices of congresspersons and senators and the terrorizing of persons thereby, and the delay of several hours of the constitutional proceedings.

President Trump is practically, and morally responsible for provoking the events of the day [Jan 6], no question about it. The people that stormed this building believed they were acting on the wishes and instructions of their President. And, having that belief was a foreseeable consequence of the growing crescendo of false statements, conspiracy theories, and reckless hypole, which the defeated President kept shouting into the largest megaphone on planet earth. --Mitch McConnell

And what were those false statements, conspiracy theories and reckless hyperbole? They were the falsehoods that Trump repeated over and over and over again at every rally, using the 'largest megaphone on planet earth' that DEMOCRATS STOLE THE ELECTION, and he stated it many months prior to the first ballot being cast which culminated in a juggernaut of rage the direct and foreseeable result of which was the attack on the capitol building.

"A mob was assaulting the capitol in HIS name, these criminals were carrying HIS banners, hanging on HIS lies, and screaming their loyalty to HIM....."

...Mitch McConnell, Senate Minority Leader

Moreover, 'inciting a riot' is not the primary issue -- It's not just the attack on the capitol, it's the overall scheme as laid out in the Eastman Memo/Navarro 'greenbay sweep' . It started when Trump declared that 'Democrats stole the election" long before the first ballot was cast, which caused a juggernaut of rage which led to the attack. It's about the fake electors, it's about the massive plan ot object to certification in the key states and to get Pence to (unconstitutionally) REMAND the objected to votes back to the states in the join session in order to delay overall certification long enough to throw the vote for prez to the house, where republicans had a two state majority in the state's delegations (aka "a contested election"). It's about Trump, and his co-conspirators, Bannon, Flynn, Giuliani, Eastman, Clark, at al, who executed this plan, it's about a conspiracy to prevent the peaceful transfer of power and delay the Joint Session of Congress in such a way as to force a house vote for president, noting that Republicans have a two state advantage. It's about the veritable coup Trump and his cohorts engaged in a conspiracy to overturn the election.

THAT is what Special Counsel Jack Smith's investigation is about (in addition to the obstruction related to stolen documents for which Ty Cobb, Trump's former lawyer stated 'Trump is going to jail').

Now, repeat after me:

Trump is a sex abuser, conman, fraudster, criminal
who loves Putin, the 'poorly educated', not to mention
that he despises democracy and has betrayed America

Trump org, indicted
Trump CFO, in prison
Trump campaign mgr., convicted.
Trump, 34 felony counts in NYC
Trump, sued for $250 million in NY.
Trump, found liable for sex abuse and defamation, must pay $5 million
Trump, asserted that because he is a 'star' he is entitled to grab women by their genitals without consent.
Trump, asserted that if Ivanka were not his daughter he'd be dating her.
Trump, being investigated for obstruction relating to the theft of national defense information documents
Trump, being investigated for election fraud in GA
Trump, being investigation for crimes related to Jan 6 attack, Jan 6 attempt to overturn the election by delaying the joint session fo congress.
Trump, settled for $25 million having scammed thousands out of millions in a fake university scam
Trump, fornicated with a porn star just after his newly wed wife gave birth and committed election fraud by paying her $130k hush money, then threw his long time dedicated lawyer under the bus who went to jail for HIS crime.
Trump charity, shut down for 'illegal activity' Trump fined $2 million.

Nothing Hillary or any prior President comes close to the evil that is Donald Trump.

Lets face it, Trump did not tell Cohen to do anything illegal, and he did it all himself.
In fact, Cohen is so dumb that what he confessed to may not even have been illegal at all.
Hush money is perfectly legal.
Using campaign funds for hush money is perfectly legal.
If you use private corporate profits for hush money, it is legal to write it off as a business expense.
I disagree, in my lay opinion, Trump engaged in the following illegal acts.

Bragg's list which bump up the 34 counts to felonies;

NY Election Law 17-152 NY Tax Law 1801(a)(3) & 1802 NY Penal Law 175.05 & 175.10 Federal Election Campaign Act 52 USC 30101

My list:

  1. Breach of Campaign Finance Laws: The major legal controversy is associated with campaign finance regulations. If the payment was organized to protect Trump's candidacy during the election, it would be considered an election expense. This should have been reported to the Federal Election Commission (FEC) in accordance with the Federal Election Campaign Act (52 U.S.C. § 30101 et seq.) The payment exceeded the legal limit for personal contributions to a presidential campaign, which is $2,700, potentially violating 52 U.S.C. § 30116(a)(1)(A).
  2. Unauthorized Corporate Contribution: Cohen, Trump's lawyer, first claimed that he employed his "own personal funds" to make the payment to Daniels. It later came out that the money was processed through a shell company. If this payment constituted a corporate contribution to the campaign, it would violate 52 U.S.C. § 30118(a), which prohibits such contributions.
  3. False Statements or Perjury: Another potential legal problem is related to making false statements or perjury. If Trump or any of his associates lied while under oath or to federal investigators about the payment, that could be a violation of 18 U.S.C. § 1001, which prohibits false statements to federal officials, or 18 U.S.C. § 1621, which covers perjury generally.

Two main reasons:

1. to make money

2. to try influencing the election against Trump

If they told the truth, then #1 and #2 are honorable.

I doubt journalists of the stature of Woodward, Costa, Wolff, Haberman, etc,, are lying.

I wonder if they are all making shit up?

It’s not made up – Trump is a malignancy.

Trump is comprehensively wrong on the issues.

Reckless, irresponsible, ignorant, and unprepared, Trump was unfit to hold any public office.

Trump was the worst ‘president’ in US history.
