Why is Trump so unpopular?

President-elect Donald Trump on Friday used his Truth Social platform to reveal that he wants “Peggy Schwinn,” a “former teacher,” to serve as the deputy secretary of education in his new administration.

But his announcement didn’t get a passing grade as he got the name of his own pick, former Tennessee Commissioner of Education Penny Schwinn, wrong.

Oh NO! He said Peggy instead of Penny?! Well, that does it! I'm not going to vote for him for sure now!
Biden called a dead woman to join him on stage, shakes hands with the air and makes up words.
Can Trump still close the border if he got Penny's name wrong? Good. Let him...

It's so obvious that no explanation is needed. There are plenty of reasons to accompany the primary ones, that he is a consistent, aggressive liar, that he is a convicted felon, and that his obsession with himself turns off most people.

But, the Republican Trump Cult will try and fail to sell the criminal as immensely popular, which is just a pipe dream. So, lets look at some unquestionable facts:
He won the Popular Vote by less than 1.5%.
The House and Senate are both Republican by razor thin margins.
In his first term Trump "was the only president going back to Truman to enter office with an approval rating of less than 50%, and he never rose above
50% for his entire term."
At the present time his approval and popularity ratings are somewhere around 45-49%.

Republicans want him to be considered popular, dangerous would be a more accurate expectation.

LOL, take the blinders off. With the polarization of this country, democrats in general are just as unpopular as Trump--if the election is any indication, Trump is slightly more popular than the democrats.

look at the context. Every major influencing institution in the country is OPPOSED to Trump and everything he is trying to do. The mainstream Media, Academe, Hollywood, all the Unions, and all government employees are part of The Resistance. And that doesn't even count every fucking Democrat in Congress and the rest of the country.

And in the face of all this opposition, the propaganda storm, the slanting of every single newscast, Trump STILL polls over 50%

It is a fucking miracle, and IN CONTEXT he is "hugely popular."

It is analogous to a situation where the team in MLB with the lowest payroll wins the World Series, 4 games to 3. It would be a MONUMENTAL, earth-shattering victory...even though it was only 4-3.

Why is the Criminal Trump so unpopular?

Hey Astroshit, haven't I warned you of the hazards of smoking burned rubber?

Trump won the popular vote. He took all seven swing states. All 50 states swung more to the red voting for him.
All that counts is that he is more popular than Biden.
And way way more popular than Harris.

You lost.
Only two days to go before the bum gets flushed out.

I don't know, won the popular vote, won electoral college, won all 7 swing states...some would say that makes him pretty popular?

Trump was a historically unpopular president the first time around, and so far it looks as though he’ll face the same widespread public opposition in his second term.

As much as Republicans want to throw around words such as “landslide” and “mandate,” 2024 was one of the closest elections in American history. Trump beat Vice President Kamala Harris in the popular vote by less than 1.5%; only one election in the last half-century (in 2000) was closer.

Joe Biden, for instance, had 57% approval in the first Gallup poll of his presidency; Barack Obama came in at 67% approval. Even Bush, who like Trump lost the popular vote in his first victory, started at 57%. In fact, Trump was the only president in the Gallup poll’s history — going all the way back to Harry Truman — who entered office with an approval rating under 50%. He was also the only one to never crack 50% approval for a single day of an entire term.

On the verge of his second term, even after his first popular vote victory in three tries, Trump’s approval is weak. A new Marist/NPR poll puts it at just 44%; 49% say they disapprove of him. The Economist/YouGov poll gives him a similar 45/51 split, while a USA Today/Suffolk University survey has his favorability/unfavorability at 47% each.

The <1.5% convicted felon. Your popularly elected President everybody.
Polls are not meant to be taken seriously. You can make them say whatever you want them to say.

Gonna be a long long long 4 years for OP.

Maybe get a hobby.

Learn a new language, learn to fly a helicopter, take up running and going to the gym, play video games, do some gardening.

Trump is not even in office yet. The clock has not even started ticking.

You got about 45 hours until 00:00.

Best of luck.

Trump was elected on his policy promises, not his personal popularity. Many would have preferred someone else to make America great again, but no one came forward that could stand up to him.

I love these threads,

I am looking forward to them for the next 4 years…..maybe more.

TRUMP WON…..NO MORE ELECTIONS!

A. He’s not a criminal.

B. He is also not unpopular despite the ceaseless propaganda efforts from the Leftards.

As OP’s go, this thread should. What a lot of bullshit.
