Zone1 Why don't more fatherless young Black men enlist in the Military?

Military pay is sufficient when benefits are considered--how many employers do you know that raise your pay because you are married with children? Reenlistment bonuses have nothing to do with what you suggested--your post suggested a cash bonus for completing initial training.

Current military pay is obviously not sufficient to fill enlistment needs, and cash bonuses are cash bonuses.

So .. you'd support soliciting fatherless black men/women using marketing and allowing them to quit their service because the demands were too difficult?

What would the marketing look like? "Hello, black fatherless people! We'll give you an attractive sign-on bonus and allow you to quit if it's too hard for you!!! We aren't including any other race because your race has the highest number of single-mother outcomes, and your race commits over 50-60% of the violent crimes in the United States! Be all that you can be!"

An E-1 private makes $1861.10 a month. That's $11.63 an hour PLUS room, board and clothing. That's damned good money for an unskilled entry level job.

Troops are not on call. There are situations where entire units are on call, but they are still off duty.

NOPE. not in the rear. I was on duty for a solid year in Vietnam.

That requires young people to be raised to have a strong will, ambition, strength, determination and at least some sort of a moral compass and pride of the country.

The type of blacks you speak of have none of those. They would rather lie, cheat, steal at the expense of others and wallow in idiocy.

It isn't just because of not having a father. A lot of them are breed to be that way by their "black culture and community". They aren't blessed to have been raised to see their own shortcomings enough to realize they need to be better.

Maybe it's that we don't see anything worth putting our lives on the line for. Everything you say blacks don't have is disputed by our history in this country. You describe whites when you say such things. You cannot see your shortcomings, yet think you can comment about others.
