Why does USMB have a "Top Monthly Reaction Score board"?

What is the purpose of the Top Monthly Reaction Scoreboard? Does it reflect the total reactions such as thumbs up, disagree, funny etc? Or is it something more than that? Is that really important? It seems to "reward" most divisive posters and may even be an enticement for them to be even more divisive.

It's all reactions and is only reflective of those that have far too much screen time in their lives.

It's also probably a measurement of pay per reaction count for the agitators.

Precisely! Additionally, it keeps the homes fire burning by encouraging competitiveness which usually leads to jealousy in one way or another. Any means to an end to keep the doors open, so-to-speak? 🪷

Because some people have empty, meaningless lives and they derive a measure of validation from the knowledge.

It's so that people who think that thumbs up and reactions are important, can tell people who don't give a damn, what losers they are because they don't have many thumbs up.

A joke, really, but some people live in a joke world

It's pretty much meaningless, as it has been gamed for over a year by a little gaggle of shitlibs who've found a way to rig the scoreboard.

They foolishly gave away their game by fluffing up Lakhota, who hasn't posted since February, yet was propped up near or at the top of the scoreboard.

Even though they got caught red handed, they're still at it to this very day...The maudes and ownership don't GAF.

I'd wager that if they ever got rid of the points thing entirely that half the board usership would disappear.

There are a few reasons that I believe this, but your thought there is one such.

I often get a chuckle whenever I read some poster in a thread complaining or ''noting,'' as so many often claim to do, that so and so liked so and so's post.

That happens all of the time. It's humorous, but it's pathetic to see, too. It's like grade school or something...

True. When the worst poster on USMB is rewarded as the "leader" on a scoreboard, something is wrong. It no doubt encourages him to be even more vile, which we are seeing.

That's right, so why have it? It serves no purpose except to encourage bad behavior.

The listings should include who is on the most ignore lists. Call it "credibility rating"
