Communism is by nature parasitic and must expand to grow instead of using an economy to grow. Oppression prevents innovation and there is no reward to invent a new concept. They have to steal them. Eventually the weight of government crushes the economy

Communism results in totalitarianism. You end up with a small handful of zealots forcing their personal ideology upon large groups of people who don't agree with that ideology. Communism has proven to be very deadly over time. It's oppressive and non-productive.

Actually, if you read Plato's Repbulicn it is a pretty good description of a planned economy Soviet style as the states proclaims your role within society and providing just enough for you to be able to fulfill that role until you die.
