[ My opinion has been----in the past---considered EVIDENCE in court
First of all, I`m not Muslim.
Can someone explain to me why Americans hate Muslims so much? Not Terrorists, but Muslims. Like, the entire religion is responsible for its extremists. And before anyone comes running in insisting that "we don`t hate Muslims", they should all keep in mind that I have seen a lot of posts like: holding them responsible for the attacks happening around the world in the name of Islam.
Why is that?
Simple enough - because they're being conditioned to. Much of what Americans think comes from media conditioning. Since very few non-Muslims have any first-hand experiences with Islam or Muslims, everything they know (or at elast believe) about it comes from media mentions. And since just about every mention of Islam, arabs, and Muslims on American tv involves terrorism, that's how Americans are going to view it.
You can dislike Islam, doesn't mean you are hateful towards MUSLIMS. Two of my good friends are Muslims and I don't even slightly hate them. I dislike their religion but I admire their inner intelligence.
Totally different two things.
Question was why do Americans hate Islam. Not "is it right to hate Islam" more generally.
I just went to the internet to find public opinion surveys about attitudes toward Muslims. I could not fine any.
I have not read about any hate crimes committed against Muslims. I have not read about Muslim owned shops being fire bombed or boycotted. During World War I Germans suffered that kind of persecution.
I have never had bad experiences with Muslims, but then again I have never known any. I have rarely had any contact with any.
My knowledge of Islam is restricted to reading. I have read the Koran. I appreciate Islam as a sister religion of Christianity, and a child of Judaism. Nevertheless, I do not see in the Koran the profundity I find in the writings of the Old Testament prophets. Mohammed does not seem to me to be as sympathetic a human being as Jesus.
I appreciate the fact that Islam has been more sucessful than Christianity in controlling crime and vice, and in restricting sex to marriage. Islamic countries have low crime rates, and low rates of venereal disease and illegitimacy. AIDS has largely bypassed the Islamic world.
Nevertheless, the vast majority of terrorists in the world today are Muslims, who claim to be inspired by their faith. Although Muslims have low crime rates in Muslim countries, they have high crime rates in European countries.
I do not mind the fact that Muslims get angry about cartoons that ridicule Mohammed. I get angry at cartoons that ridicule Judaism and Christianity. Nevertheless, in Islamic countries it is dangerous to criticize any aspect of Islam or Islamic culture. Proselytizing on behalf of Christianity is forbidden. Those who leave the Islamic faith risk their lives.
It is also dangerous in an Islamic country to subject the Koran to the scholarly evaluation the Bible has long been subject to.
Think about this. What other religion points out a specific group of people with hatred? I can't think of any except the Quran and how it mentions Jews quite often.
So, what qualifies it as a religion, rather than simply a hate group? I mean, I think the KKK also believes in God. Is it just because so many nut jobs have joined this religion, and people are afraid to offend them?

agree, The Quoran talks about Jews and Christians, and talks of them as second class at best. Christianity and other religions of the world dont call out other religions like that in their holy text. This makes Islam very unique in that way.

Exactly. The Bible is also violent, but then comes Jesus Christ who is like the "equalizer." There is no equalizer in Islam. Just Muhammad, and he wasn't a peaceful man from what I understand.

Essentially before Jesus you just had people claiming to speak for God, but then God came and spoke for himself.
Hating radical Muslim terrorist is not the same as hating Muslims. I despise the radical Muslims who go into a newspaper and commit murder because they printed something they didn't like not the ones who may not like it but understand committing murder is not how you respond to something like that.First of all, I`m not Muslim.

That's a good answer to the OP.I think most Americans distrust Muslims partly because we typically don't know them but also because they refuse to assimilate into our culture. Also they do not denounce the barbaric actions of Muslim terrorists, especially the Imams who we assume to be their leaders. I don't think most Americans hate Muslim people.
Yep just like socialism.First of all, I`m not Muslim.

The religion is what is hated. Take Cat Stevens, for example. He is just an average American who is attracted to Islam. The next thing you know he is an apologist for those who wish to kill Salomon Rushdi for his book about Islam.
It is a religion that embraces the ideas and actions of a second rate warlord. Mo conquered with the sword and made it clear that we should all live under Sharia law. All others were beneath him and destined for hell, and those that don't accept Mo's teachings should be persecuted and/or killed.
It is an evil ideology that motivates people to kill and take over governments. It is no different from all the other tyrannical ideologies over time, only, they have the added benefit of knowing that God advocates their actions.
Show proof of the errant claim that "Americans hate Muslims" as you state in your lead in. Where are the protests, riots, killings, beatings robberies, etc.?First of all, I`m not Muslim.

"To hate" means to protest, to kill and to robber? People spread propaganda against muslims because of rising of Islamic terrorism. By the way, this kind of terrorism was born 9-11-01 and called so by the US government.Show proof of the errant claim that "Americans hate Muslims" as you state in your lead in.
