Why aren't people in surrounding states swarming into South Dakota and infecting everyone?

We are constantly told that if a rural state re-opens, a bunch of virus infested hordes from other states are going to drive 300 miles in order to get a haircut, go to a movie, go shopping at the mall, and so on. Why hasn't this happened to South Dakota? Why is South Dakota not getting slammed by the rest of the country?

Who in the fuck wants to go to S. Dakota?

Let's see. A state with just a little over 900,000 people in it. Largely rural, spread out population density save for the one big county. Three major economic industries (farming, manufacturing, and mining) none of which people are going to drive to South Dakota for. It's pretty easy to see why the virus would have a hard time spreading. The two they WILL drive there for is gambling (owned by the native American population) and tourism. And here's where I don't trust the Republican governor's administration numbers. Does it accurately reflect the infections among native Americans?

Yo Poindexter. They were named the #1 state for quality of life by more than one publication in the past few years. Just because they don't have cockroach races, live in extreme filth and poverty or have daily drive by shootings shouldn't disqualify them from your city slicker quality of life ratings.

Dude! Catching Covid-19 is the third most popular thing to do in South Dakota.

Uhh...by who? The state is beautiful. But there is literally nothing to do there. Unless you primarily want to gamble and drink.
I can't find anyone who said SD topped any list in the last three years.
