Why are we still changing our clocks twice a year?

It's what we've always done. It's what we know. And we stick with what we know.

I say..pick one and be done with it...year round. :)
when congress refuses to act on something so clear and simple, someone is making money off or it, my question is who and how.

DST is a safety issue for kids going to school.
It also provides more daylight to play sports like golf, after work during the summer.
PA tried to stay on standard time, but quickly reversed it back to DST

I like it. Always have. Changing my clocks twice a year is well within my capabilities. A minor inconvenience.

Do I get a vote?

then why not keep it year round? there are the same number of daylight hours no matter what we do with our clocks, we may need to alter schedules in the winter when days are shorter.

everyone should get a vote, did I get a vote when daylight time and twice yearly clock changes were mandated?

Trump said DST is a 50/50 issue. We have this discussion twice a year like clockwork.

It depends on the part of the country a person are in if it benefits anyone. They may need to go to a state by state basis to change it.

Does this make sense to anyone? Why hasn't congress ended it? Who is benefitting and how?
I never changed the clock above my desk from last fall, so it's correct now.

Yup.
I work outdoors and our start time is based on sunrise.
Keeping the twice a year change keeps me out of peak rush hour.
I would hate being locked in one way or the other.

The obvious question is why? What do you like about it? I have the capability to put a new roof on my house but I dont want to do it twice a year.

Thread #3 this morning.

The house I don't mind so much, it's the vehicles. They are all different in the way you change the clock.
I have to do nothing.
The GPS nav system does it automatically.

Arizona does not change clocks

Its about the light we enjoy during the day. Serotonin levels, going to work/school with the sun out. It can be dark for children walking to school if we dont.as an example. I.was against it at one time but after thorough reflection, I do understand the merits of changing the clock. Mother Nature is difficult to beat, the clock changing is Mans hack against her

It can be dark for children walking to school, it has been known that predators hide behind bushes and only attack these vulnerable kids before daylight savings time takes effect.

By not changing clocks, the sun will not rise until 8AM
That would mean children walking to school or standing at bus stops in the dark
