Why are we still changing our clocks twice a year?

What does this accomplish? Who is benefitting from it? The senate passed a bill to keep daylight time year round, the house refuses to bring it to the floor, Why? Is someone profiting from changing our clocks? Who and how?

I know some of you probably like the time changing, but why?

In 2nd through 4th grades I walked to school and home from school with a flashlight. Alaska is like that. I don't think that daylight savings time had been invented yet (62-65) but when it was, did they even notice?
Yeah me too. It was dark when you went to school and it was dark again when school got out.

Summers were great because it's still twilight at midnight.

I like it just the way it is.
The change twice a year works to my benefit as someone who works outdoors.

See you all in a half year, when the next Bitch about Daylight saving comes out.
You can set your clock by it.

The only thing I don’t like is having to wake up at 2 am to move the clock back. I find it hard to fall back to sleep.

I'm sorry that daylight savings time is rational.

you'll get over it dumbass.
I previously said that year-round daylight time would be an acceptable solution, the senate already passed a bill to do that, but the house refuses to vote on it------------dumbass!!!!

If Arizona and Hawaii can opt out of daylight savings time, then other states can too. I never understand why "Congress must do something" because of that fact.

focus on tariffs and the wall.

No. It was in 1918 so that the farmers could get more light in the mornings.
It's clock change day so the DST story came up on my phone.
It was started in 1918, but then was repealed in 1919.

It was used during WWII from 1942-45. Then, it was left to be used by whatever towns and municipalities wanted to use it. In 1966 it became a national law, with states still being allowed to opt out (still true today as AZ and HI don't use it).

'66 was after my dark walks to and from school in AK, So I was right, because AK wasn't using it until '66.

<pats own back and pulls a muscle in the process>

It’s really only a pain when you lose an hour once a year. With auto setting watches It is barely an issue.
