Coffee and caffeinated soft drinks?

Experts says that the 'half-life' of caffeine is about 4-6 hours. If true caffeine can actually accumulate in the body, especially if caffeinated drinks are consumed later in the day followed by more the next morning. This would account for the lack of restful sleep and the daytime drowsiness that many experience.

Because they don’t get enough sleep

I used to have a bad coffee habit. I would go to sleep but still woke up needing more. I often had to pull into a rest stop while driving on the highway and snooze for a while as I couldn't keep my eyes open. I also had the mid day drowse's and frequently took afternoon naps. I was also drinking beer which didn't help. I have since quit drinking altogether and drink less than two cups of "Joe" per day.
All problems solved. :)

If I can't sleep, I get up and brew some coffee and within 30-45 minutes I am sound asleep.

Americans do not get enough sleep because they are up all night playing video games and posting on USMB

True.
I usually sign off around 10:30 p.m. or so at the latest. Most often I stop posting late in the afternoon.

Many Americans have a condition called sleep apnea which left untreated can cause adverse health problems and even death. My dad uses a CPAP machine for this problem.

Too many hours at work is bad for the person and for the nation.

Sure, that plus computers, phones and stress from living in a country that is going down the shidder. Every day you go out the door it is life or death in some locals.

What defines success? How much money you have?
Partly. Happy marriage, healthy family, stable successful career, meeting personal goals, contentment with life, other accomplishments.

I have had trouble sleeping lately, so I went back to the well and am now back on the same sleeping schedule I was on when I was working, and I am sleeping normal again. Going to bed at 10:00 and getting up at 06:00 (05:30 this morning) is not ideal, but neither is sleeping less than 7 hours. My body recognizes this schedule.
