Roe v. Wade Was Decided By A Republican-Nominated Supreme Court

The vote on Roe vs. Wade was 7-2. Those justices supporting the case’s pro-choice outcome were as follows, including the president nominating each and the president’s party affiliation:

Harry Blackmun (Nixon, R)

Warren Burger (Nixon, R)

William Douglas (FDR, D)

William Brennan (Eisenhower, R)

Potter Stewart (Eisenhower, R)

Thurgood Marshall (LBJ, D)

Lewis Powell (Nixon, R)

Those dissenting on Roe vs. Wade — only two – and both were not Republican-president-nominated to the Court:

Byron White (Kennedy, D)

William Rehnquist (Nixon, R; chief justice under Reagan, R)

Roe v. Wade Was Decided By A Republican-Nominated Supreme Court
-------------------------------------------------------------
5 republicans were pro choice. How can the supreme court rule any differently. 2 Democrat ruled with them

and 1 Dem and 1 Republican were pro life.

You know the answer, they went by the constitution like good conservatives do, it's also the reason why you have gay marriage, And the dreamers
We the people, comes to mind , remember
and abortions have a right to privacy.

The political affiliations back then were totally different than today.

The political affiliations back then were totally different than today.
How?
For better or worse, the Constitution’s fate has been in the hands of a majority of Republican appointed justices since 1970 and that is not about to change anytime soon. How Roberts, who this term will complete the sixty-fourth consecutive year of having a Republican appointee in the Court’s middle seat, balances the competing forces in front of him will determine whether he succeeds on a personal and institutional level, or burns his and the Court’s reputation to the ground.

It has all changed since the late 60’s and early 70’s. Kennedy would be conservative by your standards today. Nixon was a Progressive in areas of education and health care and a staunch conservative in other areas. Politicians had more leeway in their views and could be all over the board. Today, they all have to follow party line to the end, no leeway, no forgiveness, we don’t have real thinkers in today’s political parties, just those that all lock step.

Because of the value of human life. What part of that don't you get?

No republicans don't value human life.

Not when you call for California to be nuked.

Not when you people call for old people to die from the virus.

Not when you people support a president who lies about a deadly virus and how deadly it is.

The last thing you people do is value human life.

All abortion is to you people is a weapon to use against anyone who doesn't agree with your views.

Your crazy talk is noted and dismissed. You asked a question and I gave you the answer.

That it does not fit your delusional world view and you don't like it, is a problem with your head, not with my answer.

Here, have a fucking cookie.

In today's America, conservatives/republicans are the cause for abortion.

They don't support contraceptives. They don't support responsible and effective sex education.

They don't support women. They don't support equal pay for equal work. They don't support health care. They don't support child care or anything that a woman will need to raise a child.

Republicans don't support making the man responsible for every life they create then turn their back on and walk away from.

So women get abortions.
I have no problems holding men responsible financially, culturally, and everything.

Well get the republicans to do that.

All we see is that republicans call women sluts and whores and tell them to keep their legs closed.

They do absolutely nothing to make sure men don't walk away from their own flesh and blood.

Your post and words are hollow with absolutely no action to support it.

Blame the men. Wow. Never saw that one before.

It's because Jerry Falwell says they're bad.

No shit Sherlock. That’s why Penelope is an idiot with a moronic post.
Let us remember that “back then” when Roe vs. Wade was decided by a largely Republican-appointed Supreme Court was 1973, not 1860. Penelope ’s point is worth thinking about, if only because it reminds us of how much today’s Republican Party has been captured by, or panders to, those fanatic evangelicals who call Democrats “mass murderers.” These are the manic preachers Goldwater warned Republicans about.

Of course fanatical evangelicals are not the only constituent base of today’s Republicans. But southern white evangelicals are the one base that other “Republicans,“ even complete opportunists like the non-believer Trump, will never ever criticize openly. This is one reason for the dramatic corruption and decent into irrational hate politics of today’s ever more cultish GOP.

And Democrats do? Not on my life.
All abortion is to you people is a weapon to use against anyone who doesn't agree with your views
It's a human slaughterhouse, the party of King Herod who ordered the massacre of the innocents and the beheading of John the Baptist.
The KKK has absolutely nothing to do with this thread, with abortion or with the honest and true facts
Liars, for sure, but abortion is essential to the KKK's agenda of population control and Eugenics.
They do seem to worry about the bedroom lives of people for sure.
It's time to be concerned about that when so many women and girls lack an adequate explanation for becoming pregnant with unwanted children.

Both parties are corrupt and need to ousted, however the two parties are needing the irrational hate to keep their subjects under their thumbs. It has worked well, look at how America votes, they vote for the lesser of two evils. Sad reason to vote.

Because political parties are not bound to maintain any principles, or precedents of previous policy. It is all negotiable, flexible, and dependent on the possibility of placating a dissatisfied voting bloc that may help in defeating the opposing party's power.

We need a spay and neuter program for humans. A certain number of pure blood stock is reserved for breeding. The rest are rendered unable to reproduce. The unwanted accidents are adopted out to responsible people who will make sure the children are properly spayed and neuteted when They reach puberty

Just morbidly curious: Besides being a lunatic, and hating Liberals and Democrats — Do you support any particular political party or any Presidential candidate?

Oh wait, I just noted your trailing signature — “Vote RED. Remove every Democrat.” You can’t be a “Red Communist.” So just a pro-eugenics “pure blood” white nationalist Trumpster?

It makes sense. Pedigrees don't have to be all white you know. There are also deliberate hybrids. There is a waiting list for breeder puppies and kittens too. It's indiscriminate breeding that people have been trying to reduce with spay and neuter programs. County animal shelters euthanize the unwanted dogs and cats. Humans are just turned out on the streets to kill one another. It's silly to be delicate about breeding prevention and support the murder of abortion at the same time. Be responsible spay and neuter

Do you vote Republican?

Neither of which had anything to do with responsible birth control. Isn't that what democrats want, responsible birth control. They just want to kill babies and make money off selling the body parts. Not that I personally care who makes a buck no matter how odious the commodity. I just happen to believe that a good spay and neuter program is more humane than selling ground baby by the pound.

So, you are a coward who is afraid to answer the simplest of questions in an OP about Republicans & abortion. Figures.

Your grandiose portrayal of yourself as a daring eugenicist fools no one. You are a nobody. An ignorant nobody. An ordinary pathetic loudmouth.

I frankly don't care a gnat's ass what you think. I'm not even s eugenicist. Just someone who believes in spaying and neutering as a form of birth control. Just as is done with dogs and cats.
