this case began over 5 or 6 years ago, when Michael Cohen testified before congress, with AOC questioning.

Cohen's testimony lead the N.Y. DA to look in to his claims of bank and insurance valuation fraud at the Trump org...since Trump org is a N.Y. STATE licenced business....

over the years of this investigation Trump team stalled in their cooperation,files and documents subpoenaed, and testimony requested by the DA etc etc by using suits and slowly working their way up through the higher courts.

The DA slowly won each case at the top of the Courts, requiring trump team to turn over the records and give grand jury testimony etc.

this case began while trump was in office, with his doj not involved for it was a state civil case and continued that way under biden.

it is an outright LIE that this case was done by Biden as lawfare to prevent trump from running for president or to hurt his candidacy.
