When I was between wives I was involved with a lady whose son was already doing this except it was for a sexting website. (Smart guy with computers and IT).
That was over 16 years ago.
He got beta versions of Microsoft products....the ones before the other beta users. (2 Gen ahead and not next gen).
He really didn't want me to know about the sexting site because he knew my stance on such things and didn't want to hear a lecture. (I never did lecture him...that's not me or my style. I lead instead of boss...but that's another topic)
But basically it would take what you said, anything at all, and turn it into flirting or suggestive comments PLUS ask you pertinent questions. It was designed for making you more engaged. (Each text cost you more $$$ was the business model)
Like I said....that was 16 years ago. Dunno what he is doing now. Probably more tech stuff....very brilliant young man.
So....I can believe this stuff about trying to shape opinions. Especially after being a mod on another site. Some of my fellow mods were good, others weren't so good.
But I've seen often where one post can change opinions and tone for a thread. It may not get the likes or quotes....but it has a definite effect on the rest of the posts afterwards. And a solid, well informed and well written post will work amazing wonders. The glib, the trolling, the hate farming, and basic dumbassery posts do zero. (On this site it's well known Democrat actors doing most of the worthless posts and a few Republicans)
But even a cartoon or meme calling out the obvious facts can work as well. (Babylon Bee is Tops in this).
Name calling and insulting postings only entrench people's opinions more firmly. (Why is it I keep thinking about liberals and their agenda here?....oh yeah, they don't have an agenda except 8647)
This is the point where we end up having Democrats use AI to figure out their agenda to empower themselves because they have no true agenda of their own and they desire power. They really don't care about their current topics....they just want power for the controlling nature of it.
