It's hard to believe that any rational, objective folks are still in denial, even as the empirical data accrues, the evidence becomes increasingly obvious, and the expert consensus becomes even stronger, but the refusal to accept the reality is
emotionally based, not a matter of intellectual capacity for the diehards.
The correspondence with the wacky notion that a
"Landslide!" was mysteriously stolen by a vast conspiracy of unknown dastards in a presidential election with predictable results is, quite likely, an accompanying symptom of the same abandonment of reason, a weird worship of one dude with no scientific credentials whatever who tells them climate change is a Chinese hoax, and they actually swallow it.
