Who are some of your favorite blues based rock musicians?

I had a black station manager years ago, and we were drinking a beer after work talking about the blues.
I brought up Sonny Boy Williamson's name and he told me that I wasn't supposed to know that name.
We had a good conversation.

When I first heard Led Zeppelin “Bring it on Home” in 1969, I wondered why the black singer on the intro was never credited. I later learned that it was Plant’s near perfect Sonny Boy Williamson tribute

I like to watch the reactions to this man, no internet then and most thought this man was black,

Who are some of your favorite blues based rock musicians?

I don’t think that I can say there are any musicians who are constant blues favourites of mine ... as far as being rock musicians .... who cares - I don't. Anyway, there are several who’ve made some blues-heavy cuts that I will never tire of listening to:

B.B. King, ”The Thrill Is Gone”

George Benson, ”On Broadway”

Aretha Franklin, ”Ain’t No Way”

Hank Williams, “Cold, Cold Heart”

Blood, Sweat, and Tears, ”God Bless the Child”

Tammy Wynette, ”Stand By Your Man”
