A social-media account for white male supporters of Kamala Harris was briefly suspended from X, formerly Twitter, sparking anger online.

Newsweek observed that the White Dudes for Harris X account had been temporarily suspended after the group held a star-studded virtual call on Monday night that raised more than $4 million.

Mike Nellis, who is involved in the organization, shared an update on Tuesday explaining that while the X account is live again, it still remains suspended.

He said the account is "permanently in read-only mode," meaning it cannot post or interact with content and cannot create new accounts. Nellis called on supporters to continue donating to Harris' campaign, writing: "Don't let them silence us."

When contacted by Newsweek for comment, X's press office responded: "Busy now, please check back later."

White Dudes for Harris on Monday held a Zoom call fundraiser featuring celebrities including actors Jeff Bridges, Mark Ruffalo and Joseph Gordon-Levitt.

It also included appearances from Democratic politicians, including Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg and Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker. The group said that 190,000 people tuned in to the call. The West Wing actor Bradley Whitford joked on the call that it was like "a rainbow of beige."

Comment:
The Democrats are attempting to get white men to vote for Harris.
The "weird" White Dudes for Harris group probably broke the X rules.
The Democrats have a very specific hatred for white people and men.
White Dudes for Harris is kind of like chickens for KFC.
It is "weird".

They should have an "Americans for Trump" campaign instead of dividing people by demographics such as race, gender and the like. Show the contrast.

Democrats know Harris has to pick a white guy as VP so he can mansplain for Harris.
The problem is democrats have been demonizing white guys for the past several years, so they come up with "white guys for Harris".

By the description you gave....they most certainly did break the rules.

If they wish to fundraise or seek money from people there are explicit rules that they can follow to do so.

It isn't expensive or difficult.

They did this in order to be shut down so they can claim favoritism. (Which is completely untrue)

The fees are rather inexpensive....cheaper than Facebook. And the procedures are rather simple (Automated) . The extra bandwidth needed for such an even are Musk's problem....the fan base numbers alone would push the promotion of the fundraiser to exponential viral status.

But they broke the most basic rule that gets everyone shut down without fail or hesitation by automated moderators....they asked for money without paying the fees.

"White Dudes for Harris" sound like they are

Headline: 'White Dudes for Harris' X Suspension Sparks Fury: 'Election Interference'

Everything is becoming election interference to a segment of he electorate. MAGA has been making claims like this over and over again, it seems at every chance it gets.

It's interesting that the OP seems to have glossed over what the article is really about: claims of election interference.

"White Dudes for Harris" sound like they are white nationalists

Put this here because I noticed that this a Zoom call event..so just what does X have to do with it? It appears that the donations were raised on Zoom--so I wonder just what fundraising violations of the X TOS were involved.
X is a private site. They are free to do as they please, of course.

Some famous “white dudes” — including the guy who played “The Dude” — rallied in support of Vice President Kamala Harris, who would be the first female president if elected, in the inaugural event of a new group called White Dudes for Harris on Monday night.

The name may be a bit facetious, but the star-studded Zoom call attracted more than 180,000 participants and raised almost $4 million, according to organizers, who are themselves a group of white dude Democratic political operatives.

Over the nearly 3½-hour call, they said, they sold more than 5,700 White Dudes for Harris trucker caps — “not the pointy ones,” joked Ross Morales Rocketto, one of the organizers, referring to less PC gatherings of white dudes like the Ku Klux Klan.

“Throughout American history, when white men organized, it was often with pointy hats on,” said Rocketto before he added how proud he was of this group of white men, who he said are too rarely heard from.
