Surface markers define the bacterium as being not of the body. It's evolutionary, meaning the organism's ancestors met up with this pathogen in the past and passed down "knowledge" to its progeny. The problem comes when a new organism or variation arises which few have encountered in the past, i.e. diseases like covid and ebola. The problem with ebola is, so few people survive that there's no pool of naturally immune individuals. How do they know what is "prey"???

The Bacteria and virus' are all woke as they try to take over and kill their host.
Thus they are loud and proud and easy to spot. They march around teaching the baby cells about critical germ theory, trying to convert them.
