Which series was shut down too soon in your opinion?

Blue Bloods is in its 14th and final season now. I am kind of torn about this. Fourteen years is a pretty good run and I would love to see it continue, but you also have actors in Tom Selleck and Len Cariou well in their 70s so there's that.
it was a good family show, spin off with danny but I just could not get into it
new partner I don't like, in Boston too
has non of the BB feeling whatsoever

Designated survivor ran 3 seasons, could have ran longer

I can think of many but I can't think of them now!

Started with a great premise and so much promise

The second season Chris Carter took his eye off the ball and imho Morgan and Wong sunk it. The storyline became like Junior HS kids scary campfire stories.

They lost a great opportunity to actually develop the characters instead of killing them off. For example, Frank and Catherine Black could have been a fantastic storyline, but nooooooooooo, they killed her off like they were afraid of adult relationships.

Offsetting that, Morgan's brother Darren wrote arguably the best episode of the entire series

how could you not love RIPTIDE as much, same thing, great theme song, great acting TRIO, great helicopter remember?
You're not wrong.

Riptide was okay, just not as great as Hardcastle & McCormick, which had a memorable theme song, memorable actors, a memorable car, and memorable action scenes.

I don't remember anything about Riptide except the name and some vague action scenes. The only memorable helicopter I remember was from Magnum P.I.

But hey, that doesn't mean you shouldn't like it and think it's great.

Indeed. Have you heard they're doing more? Nathan Fillion is financing. It's animated, but the entire cast (sans Ron Glass RIP) has agreed to return for the voice acting. Might be good. Been a long time.

one of the very best theme songs ever.

I loved the Lt in the show,he reminded me an awful lot OF j jonah jameson from the spiderman comics, always blowing his lid off at them.
travesty of justice it only lasted two season. the networks that took that show of should be hung by their balls, seriously.

you got to see lots of hat babes as you can see as well.

Okay, now I remember Riptide and Simon & Simon, both of which I never really watched or got into.

Thanks for reminding me why!

The theme song for Riptide is laidback jazz fusion, and the theme song for Simon & Simon is kind of boring honkytonk. Even the Fall Guy theme is better than that. But those theme songs, while not terrible or awful, just don't have kick or drive -- like Hardcastle & McCormick -- and more importantly don't have musical hooks or motifs that grab you.

Now the theme songs for The Greatest American Hero, MacGyver, and Street Hawk are awesome, just like those shows.

How long does that video go? I stopped at the T.J. Hooker theme remake. Not good.

But the original, actual theme songs for T.J. Hooker are awesome, again, just like the show itself.

Plus, how can you top William Shatner as a uniformed police officer?

That is the very definition of high concept!

I remember some shows as a kid in the early 90s that I really liked but only lasted a season or two.

Get a Life where Chris Elliot played a 30 something paperboy who still lived with his parents. Weird, surreal stuff. I loved how his parents were always doing bizarre random shit in the back ground that had nothing to do with the plot.

Herman’s Head, a show where we could “see” inside the head of a normal guy (Herman) and his emotions (love, intellect, lust etc) were played by actors. I also found it cool at the time that the woman who does Lisa Simpson’s voice was in it.

I remover being very disappointed when these shows were cancelled so quick. But I’m not sure if they were actually good shows or I’m just remembering them through the filter of being a kid at the time
