I think he goes to the Mets. Cohen has to make the best offer, or met fans will never forgive him

I think he is playing the Mets to jack up his salary.

He will sign with the Yankees for less

Hmmm could be. What offer do you see the Mets giving him? And what offer is he settling for with the Yankees? Ohtani Got 70 million a year. I think Soto will probably go for 65 a year.

Toronto is going after him hard apparently.

Thus he will NOT be headed to Toronto

I didn’t know Toronto was in on the sweepstakes. I would be surprised if he signed there strictly because of the taxes.

As a lifelong Yankees fan, I’d love to have some more chances to see him bat in front of Judge.

I do see the price per player contract as being a future problem for the Yankees. Payroll caps and penalties and taxes.

No wonder tickets cost so damn much.

I hope he signs with the Yanks.

Blue Jays remain in Juan Soto hunt as winter meetings near

TORONTO — Throughout Juan Soto’s free agency, the murky line between legit contender and useful stalking horse has provided ample reason for skepticism about the Toronto Blue Jays' chances of landing the marquee superstar.
Yet with the end game nigh as next week’s winter meetings loom, they remain on the shortlist of teams vying for the franchise-altering slugger’s services, according to an industry source.

What precisely that means after three rounds of goal-post moving offers, and how the next steps play out, is unclear, the source added. But earlier this week Scott Boras, Soto’s agent, told reporters during Blake Snell’s signing that the outfielder had started culling the list while offering no specifics.
So, to a degree only Soto truly knows, the Blue Jays are still in the mix, their stance is described as aggressive and the angst, if not the expectations, the Blue Jays experienced a year ago, when they also threw their best pitch and then awaited Shohei Ohtani’s call, is back.

Since it won’t be the Red Sox, I really don’t care. If I were a gambler, I’d bet anywhere other than Boston. Red Sox management doesn’t want tompsy money or years like it will take to land Soto.

Mets spends money and can't win the big one. The Yanks should do what they often traditionally do best: pay their players. If you don't, then someone else will. George was the master at that.

George was impulsive and gave many bad contracts that he later regretted

He would often bid against himself when nobody else was competing for a player.

He had 7 world titles in 35 years. Proof is in the pudding.

I hope they don't sign Soto. I'd much rather see them sign Roki Sasaki, Corbin Burnes, Tomoyuki Sugano, and/or Max Fried.

Soto signed a monster 15 year deal with the METS
