Where women get to fight and do a hell of a great job fighting

Nonsense. I served a tour in the maintenance battalion of the 1st Cav Division, and the best light machine gunner on the march and in bivouac was a female. Women have been proven to be very good pilots.

We can be too anti-dei.
"maintenance battalion"

What else was she carrying? To compare, I was able to carry the barrel and receiver of an M-2 fifty caliber for miles when dismounted plus my personal gear and two belts of ammo. That was a higher percentage of my body weight than the twenty-eight pounds of an M-240 was of hers.

You are no expert, where I am. An LBE with typical gear, a side arm, and about 40 pounds in a knapsack.

She would have walked you into the ground.

Hardly. I grew up without a car, a twenty mile round trip walk to the Sunset Strip was an afternoon stroll for me. Now, she could walk me into the ground, I haven’t walked more than a mile at a time for decades.

Good on you, sparky.

Ukraine!!!! Women sign up to fight. And as snipers do a hell of a good job. They have no problem hitting Russians. What do you think about the women snipers killing Russians in Ukraine. Maybe even in Russia.

You not considering what might happen to these women (if they are targeted by or finally over run by enemy forces, otherwise being set upon by enemy snipers that might seek to wound them instead of kill them for nefarious reasoning) is somewhat interesting.

Snipers have been a part of wars forever and a day now sure, and so your suggestion is that "women" might be suited for the position (verses) another position they might be suited for better in the serivces ?? This is because of what in total analysis of ???? Not saying that it's not OK, but what are the overall effects of it on the woman and the war efforts, otherwise if it is known by one's enemy the tactics or personel being used ??

Is it because the woman might want such a job, and therefore it should be just given to her without pause or a full overall evaluation of such a thing regarding the mental stress on the woman's mind afterwards, along with the effects of it on the battlefields ?

What better way to enrage the enemy more so, than to interject women into combat roles that suggest to the enemy that a woman is tougher and more capable than they are, and this as they fall victim to a womans sniper bullet or worse a taunting of it afterwards.

Just not sure what the total implications of it all will be or how such a thing will turn out in the end.

Female cop's have struggled greatly when attempting to perform at the level of their male counterparts in the job of law enforcement. Should we consider these studies or stats also ?

So many what if's and scenario's to be considered in new thing's tried, but war leaves little room for social engineering studies to be performed.

For every one female exception there are many more who are not able to fight

Normally we do not see evidence you put men down when you were among the men. So none of you men were good gunners? Amazing you confessed.

No thank you. I don't take orders from you. If that interests you, feel free to check them out.

You ignore evidence then, which is nothing new. It has been posted on the Board several times. They were good soldiers and performed competently. Your opinion, Robert, is meaningless.

You goofball. I did nothing of the sort. The men served well, too. What is your problem? Why do you make things up? :)

I served in the Army and was one who trained with machine guns. You boasted loudly about one women who you told us all was the best machine gunner in your unit. Want to change what you said?

You are who bragged a woman was best gunner in your unit, meaning you were behind her in ability.

Not the same thing as difficult marches or being a machine gunner.
I am a pilot. Yes women easily learn to fly. It is no mystery at all. And I know of women who were good or great pilots of say fighter jets. But that is sitting down. It is just not the same as a difficult march or even waging combat when you can see the enemy out in the field. War Jets have a lot of protection built into them.
