I mean seriously , who is happy to see a cop show up? And worse then seeing a cop show up is a bunch. Of cops showing up. Around here they just patrol lookin for brake light out or a missed turn signal , headlight on the blink . And not just to let you know but to smell your breath .. looking to make thousands .

There are good cops and corrupted cops.

What else is there to the story?

I have met a lot of nice cops, that have been with the force for a long time. It's never easy to be a cop. But it's rewarding to know you can help in any way that you can.

I had one cop come to my sister's house when she was in the middle of a house invasion. He wasn't that far away, so he made the trip to check on my sister. Thank goodness he prevented those dumbasses trying to hurt my sister. If he wasn't there, who knows what they were capable of doing - to her and the house.

You appear to exhibit clear signs of Anti-Social personality disorder, and very likely most of your friends likely do to, to some extent. Sociopaths do not like being corrected, or adhering to societal expectations, as a consequence of this they have a high incidence of LE contact, and incarceration, and its never the sociopath's fault, little things like out of date lic plates, broken lights, drinking/doping whilst driving, ect, ect are not to be seen as crimes, but rather nobody elses business, naturally you cannot abide civil authority figures, likely you cannot abide a conscience either....

A long time ago on a cold winter night, my car quit in the middle of a hill. I coasted down the hill and into a parking lot. A cop came by to see what I was doing there after hours. I told him and he gave me a ride home.

The next time that happened, the cop called the tow truck. It cost me hundreds to get my car back.

I live in a small town with low crime . I walked to the local 24 hrs market . On sat. Night in that 7 min walk each way I seen 3 cars pulled over . I have been pulled over more in the last year then I been pulled over in 45 years of driving. So you tell me Mr. Social butterfly?

I already told you, I also do not believe your sob story, and what's more living in a small town can make it even easier for LE to target certain types of people with a history of "ahh" offenses, as they stand out even more! The police are not out to get you, your conduct is!

Of course you have no clue what you are talking about . But our police chief owns the general Lee race car.

This, class, is a perfect example of projection!

That is the simple truth. If they were to repeal the sophistry known as Qualified Immunity (ain't gonna happen) the result would be more good cops, fewer corrupted cops.

Let's get rid of them. What could go wrong?

The purpose of law enforcement is to ENFORCE THE LAWS. Protecting you and I is a byproduct of that law enforcement.
Local, county and state police have a lot of territory to cover and driving around makes them able to cover more of the territory. As for pulling people over for tail-lights out, headlights out, not using turn signals, parks in a handicapped space when not handicapped, et cetera, et cetera. the states government introduce the laws, the governor approves or vetoes them and any law enacted, is required to be obeyed and the cops aren't allowed to pick and choose any law they may choose.
The citizens are allowed to gather signatures on any petition to end any law(s) they don't like. Let's take that pesky law that mandates you use turn signals to demonstrate your intention to turn, left or right. That pedestrian about to cross the street will see you, but think you are going straight, since you don't have that annoying turn signal on and steps out. Oops, to his/her surprise, he stepped out and you just hit him. When those annoying police arrive, they will look at the scene and who will be held accountable and end up with jail time? You. You didn't signal your intention. Most laws are there for safety purposes.
It would be nice if every neighborhood had cops there, but the budget's just not there for it. Hell, the leftist loonies want to "defund the police." I would like them show any nation that doesn't have cops. There aren't any. All nations have laws. Laws against stealing, laws against violence and laws regarding the operation of motor vehicles and their safety.
