This was probably the peak of the Yankees - for me anyway

I lived through the Yankees starting immediately after Mantle and Maris.

Steinbrenner light a fire under them

The era of Jeter and Mariano was the best to watch, right up there with Guidry and Munson.

i grew up in W.NY and the yankees were all i seen because my dad was a big yankee fan.....

I'm old enough to remember when it was more often the Yankees and Dodgers in the World Series than not. :)
