When has this ever happened?

Well, he was the VP when Nixon quit. I already ruled those situations out. And he had to run for and win the nomination the following election cycle. None of this is true for Harris. She is neither replacing a president nor has she actually run for and won the position of president elect. She hasn’t garnered a single vote from anyone in a democratic way. And yet she still talks about democracy being in danger if the other guy wins who was actually voted on to be in that position. None of it makes sense.
Idiot - Ford was appointed VP without any votes just so he would pardon Nixon when he resigned to make his puppet Ford president. The worst economy & deficits since the great depression, until Regan, Bush & Trump!

After being VP & President via appointment, votes in later lost elections don't matter.

Actually, yes. Has happened many many times.
  1. William McKinley (Republican): Assassinated on September 14, 1901. His vice president, Theodore Roosevelt, succeeded him as president.
  2. Warren G. Harding (Republican): Died of a heart attack on August 2, 1923. His vice president, Calvin Coolidge, became president.
  3. FDR (Democrat) died in office and was succeeded by Truman.
  4. Same with Kennedy. Succeeded by Johnson.
And all of them (there may be more) were sworn into office without a single primary vote. Why the fuck do you think we have VP as part of the package when you vote in November?

Try to engage those brain cells once in a while. I know you guys are retards and it would be hard but give it a try. You're welcome.
Nominee, put up as the parties choice for the election. Not a VP taking over after a death. Fucking retarded cock sucker.

I don’t have an article to post. Just my own freedom of the press credentials. I have a question though absolutely politics in nature.

Has there ever been a nominee for president that never received a single primary vote?

She received millions of primary votes. They voted for Biden-Harris. Harris to take over if Biden couldn't continue.

The 25th Amendment to the Constitution allowed Ford to assume the presidency after he was selected by Nixon to replace Spiro Agnew, the Vice President elected ...

Ford took the oath of office on August 9, 1974, after Richard Nixon’s resignation amid the Watergate scandal. Ford became the first, and so far the only, person to become President without winning a general election for President or Vice President.

Stupid teabaggers.

Pretty much every nominee before the 1950s as that is when the current primary system came into place

Abe Lincoln did not receive a single primary vote

Thomas Jefferson did not receive a single primary vote

George Washington did not receive a single primary vote

Teddy Roosevelt did not receive a single primary vote

You think that should be normal?

Retard. A VP's job is to step in if needed. That is pretty much all the VP job description. How the hell do you not know that?

Were you dropped on your head as a child? That would explain a lot. Thoughts & prayers.

I don't think so.

Kamala Harris has enough delegate votes to officially become historic Democratic nominee: DNC chair

BuYou think that should be normal?
now you're changing your own OP. lol And I doubt even Harris would consider this a new normal.

Actually, when Biden dropped out I was sort of reminded of the history of McKinley. He was the last of the post-civil war gop polls and had TR hoisted upon him for VP and TR did most of the campaigning. McKinley was assassinated less than a year into his second term.

You think that should be normal?
Yes.
As "normal" and STUPID as the electoral college electors, voting for president.

After two months, an FBI investigation, and confirmation hearings and votes in both the House and Senate, Gerald R. Ford was sworn-in as the 40th Vice President of the United States.

The 1976 Republican National Convention was the culmination of a six-month struggle for what one national TV news reporter deemed “the soul of the Republican Party.” Primary by primary, President Gerald Ford had clawed for his party’s nomination against a conservative challenger, California Gov. Ronald Reagan. The fight had come down to the convention, where neither candidate arrived with the majority of delegates needed to win.

Meh…

People whose candidate is a few months away from losing the popular vote for the third time in a row.

We perhaps learned of the then deep state which during the Nixon era was surreal.

It was the major parties that went this way. Progs are stopping because they put Party over Country. Either way, Harris is not very good. In fact, she is mediocre. Very mediocre. Unfortunately, we live in a lower IQ nation now. Like 2nd and 3rd world nations more often than not, are.

Abe Lincoln did not receive a single primary vote

Lincoln's camp used fake convention tickets to load the hall with their people to help him snatch the nomination. Shit used to be way more interesting than modern primaries are.

As the convention opened in a large temporary structure called the Wigman, the Lincoln organizers outmaneuvered the Seward supporters in the hall, and in some cases, got their supporters into the 10,000 seat arena using counterfeit tickets. Davis also assured that Lincoln would be the second choice in states where he didn’t lead Seward, other than the two other candidates: Ohio’s Salmon Chase and Missouri’s Edward Bates.
