That's nice. What you are failing to understand about the counter point is that mandating something that you think will be a net positive is not what the government is here to do. Just because it may be good for society does not mean the government has a right to forces something to occur.

That's nice. What you are failing to understand about the counter point is that mandating something that you think will be a net positive is not what the government is here to do. Just because it may be good for society does not mean the government has a right to forces something to occur.

They should if you work in certain jobs where your having the flu endangers others who have no choice but to come in contact with you.

She may never have type 2 diabetes for being over weight, but the guy that is over weight, who pays his premiums will need diabetes medicine and get it to cover his needs, as she would like some coverage for her needs.

The Democrats are laughing it up right about now. The right wing wants to talk about how Obama, allegedly, can't run on his record. But the truth is that the GOP is the group that has nothing to offer, and so they're trying to erase Obama's record. What they don't realize is that they are playing right into his hands. The GOP needs to get out there and actually offer some solutions to help keep the country moving forward, instead of bitching that Obama has moved the country forward in the ways he's felt were most important. I don't like the health care law, was opposed to it then and I still am. But I'm not going to waste my time babbling about contraception of all things, and comparing birth control to McDonald's apple pie. They made a move about that in the late 90s, and the consequences were pretty damn bad, if you recall. Until the GOP start offering REAL opposition (which is available, but they just don't seem to want to touch) they are going to be playing into Obama's hands.

It is WRONG for the POTUS to order a private company or business by decree to provide an additional service to someone at no additional cost. He is not the Pharaoh.
