Looking at this series of articles, it looks like the same ole same ole GOP sucker play to intransigent Democrat demands.

Trump needs about $15 billion in his estimate to build the wall he wants, and is willing to get only $5 billion in exchange for just about anything including a huge DACA trade.

But Democrats are unwilling to budge an inch and insist on zero money for the Wall, and so we have a shut down. Its adorable how Democrats think that compromise means they get everything and the Republicans get the sweat off their balls,...maybe.

But how long till a compromise is actually reached? I think this can go a long time.

When the optics get bad enough the Senate will make an end run around tRump.

A week or two at the most IMHO.

The party of slavery is a bunch of real scumbags. And the one and only reason they are opposing the job producing infrastructure project on the southern border is because they think it is a Trump campaign promise.

That is pure scumbaggery.

Well, that's kind of how a deal works, isn't it?

The Senate will go around trump eventually.

You think they will over-ride his veto...if they ever get to it?
Indeed, they will. Or trump will capitulate to some extent. But if he doesn't, yes, the Senate will override him. Trump's political power is really teetering on a cliff right now.

Well, if we're playing doomsday scenarios, you may be right. It's in that area where we are far enough from the 2020 election to where the opposition can have some backbone and not pay a price immediately. That will last until about September. Around September, you want start aligning close enough so the maniacs who still support the blob will give you a sniff. So between now and then (if it goes that far), you can oppose the Cheeto with some immunity. The closer to the General election, the more you will see the ranks closing.

The GOP would be wise to remember the Democrats who walked the plank over the ACA and how they were treated.

----

Does anyone know when the last time both houses voted to over-ride a presidential veto?

Considering most of the poll options were for one side or the other wins, not all people realize that. Oh btw, someone on this thread suggested the senate will go around Trump, in other words override his veto. That isn’t in the cards unless this shutdown goes on for months. No way one third of the senate republicans want to dismiss the Trump supporters.

That's because you are a racist bigot, jackass party of slavery supporter.
