WHEN DO WE DEFUND THE NGOS HELPING ILLEGAL ALIENS.

"Today about 170 social service efforts across the U.S. are supported by Catholic Charities, serving several million people each year. The 501(c)(3) coordinating body, Catholic Charities USA, raised $24 million in contributions and grants in 2013. Linked to its origins in the nation’s capital, and its continued headquartering there, Catholic Charities has also involved itself extensively in political debates right from its beginning. It organized letter-writing campaigns on behalf of New Deal legislation, for instance, and led pushes for various forms of public housing. In the 1960s, the group tilted further toward advocacy of government activism. Today, about two thirds of Catholic Charities’ annual spending comes from government sources (more than half a billion dollars of federal grants alone)."

Great idea. We absolutely want to advertise as loudly as possible that Trump and Republicans are defunding religious groups, and churches.

Thanks for putting that out there.

I see the grants come from Democrat and Republican sources. Why did you only say the Dems do it and leave out Republicans?

Catholic Charities USA has received billions of dollars in government support for its work with immigrants. For example, the Catholic Charities Archdiocese of San Antonio received $10.9 million in federal funding from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) to run its Migrant Resource Center (MRC) through September 2025.

NGOs can access government funding through various channels:

  1. Grants: Governments offer grants to NGOs based on specific eligibility criteria and funding priorities. NGOs are required to submit detailed proposals outlining their projects, expected outcomes, and budget plans. Grants can cover a portion or the total cost of a project, depending on the nature and significance of the initiative.
  2. Subsidies: Governments may provide subsidies to NGOs to help cover ongoing operational costs. This form of funding is designed to support the day-to-day activities of NGOs, including salaries, administrative expenses, and infrastructure maintenance.
  3. Contracts: In some cases, governments enter into contractual agreements with NGOs to deliver specific services on their behalf. These contracts outline the scope of work, timelines, and financial arrangements. NGOs may be responsible for managing and implementing projects in sectors such as healthcare, education, or disaster response.
The NGOs are dug in deep into our .gov like so many ticks.
