When do the mass resignations begin?

they don't want to follow orders? Glad they resigned saves the DOJ from having to fire them
The agency’s justification for dropping the case was explicitly political; Mr. Bove had argued that the investigation would prevent Mr. Adams from fully cooperating with Mr. Trump’s immigration crackdown. Mr. Bove made a point of saying that Washington officials had not evaluated the strength of the evidence or the legal theory behind the case.

Ms. Sassoon, in a remarkable letter addressed to Attorney General Pam Bondi, said that Mr. Bove’s order to dismiss the case was “inconsistent with my ability and duty to prosecute federal crimes without fear or favor and to advance good-faith arguments before the courts.”

“I have always considered it my obligation to pursue justice impartially, without favor to the wealthy or those who occupy important public office, or harsher treatment for the less powerful,” she said. “I therefore deem it necessary to the faithful discharge of my duties to raise the concerns expressed in this letter with you and to request an opportunity to meet to discuss them further.”

Lawyers who refuse to comply with the corrupt acts of their superiors are exactly the kind of people we want working at the DoJ. People with integrity, who respect the Constitution, and take their oath of office seriously are antithetical to the goals of this admin.

/----/ OH, you got him this time for sure, #15,457. And you really, really mean it.

But since you put so much faith in watchdogs, you're gonna love this:

Some US arms shipments to Ukraine ending up in hands of criminal gangs, arms traffickers, watchdog says

Ams and aid shipments to Ukraine have come with little oversight, according to a Defense Department report, with some weapons falling into the hands of criminal gangs.

The Liar-in-Chief doing what he does best, lie.

President Donald Trump on Thursday denied instructing the Department of Justice to order the dismissal of the criminal prosecution of New York City Mayor Eric Adams.

Trump’s denial came as Manhattan’s top federal prosecutor and five senior DOJ officials in Washington, D.C., resigned over an order by a top DOJ official to toss out the case against Adams.

“I didn’t,” Trump said at the White House when asked by a reporter if he requested the dismissal. “I know nothing about it. I did not,” Trump added.

Mueller Zeros In on Story Put Together About Trump Tower Meeting

WASHINGTON — Aboard Air Force One on a flight home from Europe last July, President Trump and his advisers raced to cobble together a news release about a mysterious meeting at Trump Tower the previous summer between Russians and top Trump campaign officials. Rather than acknowledge the meeting’s intended purpose — to obtain political dirt about Hillary Clinton from the Russian government — the statement instead described the meeting as being about an obscure Russian adoption policy.

trump stood in front of reporters on AF1 and lied, claiming he knew nothing.

That's just another pathetic deflection. You asked what laws trump broke to warrant impeachment.

The Trump administration broke the law by withholding congressionally approved military aid to Ukraine last summer “for a policy reason,” a top government watchdog said Thursday in a scathing report.

The Government Accountability Office’s report came a day after the House of Representatives sent articles of its impeachment of President Donald Trump to the Senate for conduct related to holding back that aid.

Trump refused to release the funds to Ukraine at the same time he was pressuring that country’s new president to announce investigations of former Vice President Joe Biden and of Biden’s son Hunter, who had served on the board of a Ukraine gas company. Joe Biden is the current front-runner for the Democratic presidential nomination.

/---/ The president has the right to withold funds when he thinks there is fraud and abuse. He is also trying to end this war and thus forcing Ukraine to the table.
Did you assclowns have any fake outrage over this withholding of funds?

Joe Biden leveraged aid to remove top prosecutor as part anti-corruption efforts

It's true that Joe Biden leveraged $1 billion in aid to persuade Ukraine to oust its top prosecutor, Viktor Shokin, in March 2016. But it wasn't because Shokin was investigating Burisma. It was because Shokin wasn't pursuing corruption among the country's politicians.

The prez does not have the authority to withhold congressionally approved funds. On his call to Zelensky Dontard did not say he was withholding funds because of fraud. He wanted Zelensky's help in smearing Biden before the 2020 campaign.

berg is has been trumpisized......the poor guy cant sleep without having pictures of trump dancing in his head...
In the summer of 2019, the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) withheld from obligation funds appropriated to the Department of Defense (DOD) for security assistance to Ukraine. In order to withhold the funds, OMB issued a series of nine apportionment schedules with footnotes that made all unobligated balances unavailable for obligation. Faithful execution of the law does not permit the President to substitute his own policy priorities for those that Congress has enacted into law. OMB withheld funds for a policy reason, which is not permitted under the Impoundment Control Act (ICA).The withholding was not a programmatic delay. Therefore, we conclude that OMB violated the ICA.

Fuck off.

In her letter, Ms. Sassoon said that Mr. Bove had scolded a member of her team for taking notes during the meeting and ordered that the notes be collected at the meeting’s end.

Ms. Sassoon also wrote that her office had proposed a superseding indictment against the mayor that would have added a charge of conspiracy to obstruct justice. The charge, she wrote, would have been “based on evidence that Adams destroyed and instructed others to destroy evidence and provide false information to the F.B.I.” It would also have included additional accusations about his “participation in a straw donor scheme.”

Why would Bove object to members of Sassoon's team taking notes?

NPR just announced that the resignations we’ve seen since Trump took office are actually less than the typical turnover of federal employees at the beginning of any calendar year.

If that is true, and of course, we know that it must be because the government would never pay people to tell lies, then it seems that federal employees are looking forward to working under Trump. So much so that many who were thinking of resigning or retiring will stay on.

Very good idea in about two years or so people will start taking pride in our government again. Who wouldn’t want to be part of that?

Imagine people saying I am a government employee with the same pride that people often say I am a first responder or I am a veteran.

That may well happen under the new streamlined and efficient government that takes care of peoples basic needs with no hint of fraud or excess spending.

The resignation of 6 DoJ officials for being directed to do something blatantly unethical is a rarity. But it almost happened once before during trump 1.0.

Former DOJ officials detail threatening to resign en masse in meeting with Trump

Of course there was also the Saturday Night Massacre during Nixon's day.
