I get what you're saying about mercy, and I struggle daily with the same thing, knowing that my Lord demands that I love my neighbor as I love myself. It kind of helps to keep a list of the worst of them in my prayer book and pray for them, daily, when possible. When one of them really ticks me off, I ask the Lord for patience and I pray a Hail Mary for them. It only takes a few seconds, and the devil says every time someone prays a Hail Mary, it's like a blow to his head.

And yeah, if I had been there, it would have been a struggle to refrain from leaving.

But priests get canceled for having certain opinions so he keeps it unspoken to the majority of parishioners, like the 501(c)(3) tells him to.
