What would YOU do? #2

they even take it out on our children. Not surprising. they've been undermining parents through their children for years in public schools. These people.....no more licenses....what good does that do? Only state sanctioned BAD BEHAVIOR. BETTER for full reporting and disclosure on the bad behavior of these daycares and that will put them Out OF BUSINESS.

What would i do. I think i'd be busting the door down and then filing charges against that daycare. Ok...maybe i'd call the police like she did. Wonder if the police were outraged at what the daycare did. At least mom wasn't charged with 'breaking and entering'. What kind of people would do that to a small child.

I agree it’s a sick thing to do, but would you rather have them call the police and report an abandoned child when momma didn’t show up on time?

THESE places must know that sometimes things prevent a parent from arriving on time. traffic problem. accident, illness, car problem, delayed for any legitimate or illegitimate reason. When daycares close for the evening they generally have to do some maintainance...and it can't be done in 15 minutes. . She was 15 minutes late. They could charge a fee, they could wait, this smells of vindictiveness.....not to mention cruelty. I suspect this daycare will be losing business.

so it is okay to take it out on a 2 year old and panic the mother?

She knew when she was supposed to be there. She apparently believes it’s appropriate for her to inconvenience the staff by being 15+ minutes late for pick-up.

I’ll save you the bit about “if she was a proper mother she’d be st home with the kid to begin with”

It was a mistake. Nobody would intentionally leave a kid locked alone in a day care center. Sure, there should be some sort of recompence for what happened, but to imply they intentionally locked her up and left because her mother was late is just dumb. No doubt that particular mistake will never happen again at that daycare.

Daycare staff are NOT supposed to leave the premises for ANY reason, until ALL children have been accounted for and picked up by a guardian or parent.

Daycare staff are also supposed to keep tabs on ALL the kids they look after, not just one or two!!

Daycare staff are also supposed to notify the parent if they need to make alternate pickup arrangements if they are going to be late on any given day.

Daycare staff are also supposed to double and TRIPLE check ALL ROOMS where kids might be, BEFORE cleaning and ending their day to go home!!!

Are they getting 1.5x base pay for the Overtime? If not, screw the parents and screw the kids. I work from 6am-4pm. If you want me one minute before or after that, I get paid. No reason these people shouldn’t be the same.

Be where you need to be, when you need to be there. I constantly tell my wife… if we’re on time, we’re 10 minutes late.
