What will be considered a success for the Trump - Putin meeting on Friday.
Obviously an end to the war would be the ultimate. I don't expect anyone feels that will happen.
An immediate cease fire?
A reduction of warfare killing innocent civilians?
Putin committing to a meeting with Zelensky?

In my opinion, if Trump comes back and reiterates Putin wants Crimea and Donbas as a condition to end the war, it will be a total failure.
Another example of Putin playing Trump. Trump has threatened to do many things unless Russia backs off killing civilians and agrees to peace talks. Trump has done nothing. Putin has never felt more emboldened.

For the sake of the Ukranian people, I hope I am wrong.

Crimea is not in question. That's gone. It's the newly occupied territories and Ukrainian NATO membership that are in play. Whatever Trump does or doesn't do will invariably be a failure for the likes of you anyway.

I don't know but I suspect that European leaders and intel agencies don't believe Trump will be tough on Putin. Let's hope they are wrong. He has the cards as he can apply tariffs to Russia oil.

What is confusing to some online is that he has called out U.S police, AGs and judges with a declaration that "you better be tough" on domestic issues/crime so one would hope he would apply the same principle when dealing with a man who started a war in which hundreds of thousands of men have been killed, including many citizens.

A ceasefire would be a good start but he needs to have a hard time line on ending this war.

I have a feeling that Putin just wants to play Trump again, But it
appears trump is on to him this time. The land swap is not a good idea.
It would favor Putin big time in a year or two if they did swap.

And whatever Trump does will be considered the best move ever by a US President.
Crimea annexation by Russia is not recognized by the majority of the world. Russia would want that to change if Ukraine officially accepts the annexation. I am sure you know that.

Good point. Trump bully's the weak and fears the strong.

Who cares? The people of Crimea want to be part of Russia, being overwhelmingly Russian. It's a dead horse. I am sure you know that.

If Trump successfully negotiates an end to this war, democrats will say he gave everything to Putin. They may also give up any pretense of peace in the United States and do what many democrats have wanted, a general uprising.

I doubt it. Trump doesn't even care about Americans, why would he care about Ukrainians?

And this isn't a Trump thing, it's actually a thing with political leaders in general. Very, very few politicians actually care about the lives of their own people. They only say they do, so that people will keep voting for them, or not kick them out too early.

Doesn't matter, trump claims success no matter what the outcomes are because he doesn't give a shit, all he cares about is being noticed, being admired and lets face it, most of the trumpanzee deadbeats idolize the klutz even after all we've seen recently.

Stop the Ukraine war in a week? Nope, but they don't care.
Stop the Gaza genocide in a week? Nope, but they don't care.
Stop sending weapons to Ukraine? Nope, but they don't care.
Release the Epstein files once in office? Nope, but they don't care.
No more US war? Nope, lets bomb Iran, the magats don't care.

Putin already controls Crimea and a majority of Donbas. . . so an agreement to end the war on those terms would not be a failure, it would be a victory that save Zelensky and Kiev from being destroyed.

. . . if Putin gives the west the option of getting out now before they are completely destroyed? That would be a good thing, not a failure.

He doesn’t give away Alaska.

What can trump possibly do to stop the war? The only thing is to stop arming Ukraine and attacking Russia via the proxy.

He could stop it tomorrow but he's so utterly inept he can't do what needs to be done, he's hopeless, anyone with a brain can see that trump is always confused, has no idea how to make decisions that's why he's made a prick of himself with China and the TACO policy.

He really is confused, he puts on an act of a tough no messing around guy, but never makes a single sensible decision.

The Europeans are now playing him with this Ukraine shit, the entire agenda for Alaska was dictated by the EU!

Putin will tell him to **** off and he will, of course he'll lie and prattle on to the press about what a great job he did, but nothing will change and the US might even get dragged into a war, all avoidable.

Russia will sooner of later strike very hard against a non Ukraine target, it's inevitable the way the West is acting.

First and foremost knowing what Putin wants or expects from all of this

We spent. 4 years not speaking and only allowing deaths and the xiden family to enrich themselves …while part of that has come to and end, so does the death need to
