what was the reason for choosing the nick that you chose here?

I chose mine because I get sick of hearing people declare themselves or others as Left or Right wing. The American eagle flies with both wings.

(However, my bird avatar is the elblem of the Romulan Empire of Star Trek lore...because I'm an incurable Trekkie!) 😁

Let the planet go crazy for awhile -- first , it gets worse .
Keep your Cool , as they say . Do not get involved .
Then the frequencies alter , due to change in the elliptic angle of us relative to the sun .

Two years of difficulty and then we sweep into a Golden Age .

I will doubtless have to hope to catch those amazing times in my next incarnation ,due to being born too early this time to reap the benefits .Same for yourself and all the other old brain dead individuals stalking this waiting room for the last train
But hang on , as the world going crazy for awhile is great spectator sport .

See this Chat Club for a small taste of the madness

Is that from the Star Fleet Technical Manual?

That bird was actually taken from the old Pontiac bird used on the hoods of Trans Ams.

I just looked up the Romulan symbol in an online image search. That one seemed like the easiest to make into an avatar.

I know the Star Fleet Technical Manual is where they introduced all those symbols, flags and other stuff. Most of it was never seen or used elsewhere again.

They had Richard Dakin come in and build the Romulan ship for Balance of Terror, it was just something he threw together. He also made the 6' set for the shuttle bay (usually shown from inside when a shuttle was landing or taking off), and he was the uncredited head builder of the 11' Enterprise shooting model (uncredited because he was non-union).

After shooting episode #9, they threw that ship out--- stupid move, in the third season, they brought the Romulans back (The Enterprise Incident) where Kirk goes mad and Spock kills him after shacking up with the female Romulan commander in order to try to steal their cloaking device), but since they didn't have that Romulan ship anymore, they said that Romulans had adopted Klingon design so they could use Klingon ships.

Had they saved the original Romulan ship, I bet today, it would sell for millions.
