Well I'm just a nobody but I see the poisons as the impetus for the greater issue, though it is an important one in and of itself; to eliminate Chinas control and influence in Americas orbit.

The actual president of Venezuela would presumably take office and he is pro-Capitalist, pro-western values, which is a good thing. Venezuela was a thriving nation until Chavez took over and his Socialist Party trashed the country. Now, they refuse to leave office.

No doubt his removal would be good, but the ugly history of U.S. involvement in deposing dictators, as well as democratically elected Presidents, may further alienate everyone in this country, as well as South America.

The CIA is already involved in greasing the rails, and they obviously have a terrible reputation in South America, moreso than anywhere else in the world, outside of the Middle East. They've earned it.
